I think a lot of the kids being mentioned will go a level lower than us next season. I can’t see a squad going for promotion blooding that many kids who have little or no experience of men’s professional football.
I’ve no doubt some of them will come good, and I look forward to them joining the squad but I think they’re behind where some fans think they are right now. Which is all totally understandable given their age.

Wise words Bob! They need time to develop and mature finding the right time to blood them is for experienced coaches .
Age is not always the biggest factor with development as maturity happens to players at various ages.

I keep seeing this but can’t follow the logic.
I fully get he’s an inexperienced risk but Jos had extensive first team experience.
He managed in the German second division for a year (leading a team to 9th) before resigning to go back as an assistant at Borussia Mönchengladbach. He takes over with them already adrift and they go down. He does get them back up at the first ask, but this is Borussia Mönchengladbach. He’s then sacked the next season with them back in 18th place.
He then goes back to 2B and takes over at Augsburg. First season loses the playoff but gets them promoted at the second ask before leaving for Hertha Berlin. Again, gets them promoted but is bombed halfway through the season and they just stay up.

Blessin in hugely inexperienced but took a team from bottom of the league to competing at the top on a small budget in his first season. I can’t see any link or similarities to Lukahay at all.

What’s the standard of the Belgium first division? Comparable with the SPL or worse? I see he’s got McGeehan and Mamadou Thiam in and around the first team, doesn’t bode well for the standard.

I’d still throw out it’s better than 2B so he’s probably coaching poorer players but getting more from them through a mix of tactics, system and man management.
Sounds like a mate of ours.

Red bull seem to like these up and coming managers and they do well that is one reason he went to Ostend because there was no openings at Red Bull teams. He was another the ex dingle manager Gerhard Struber came through the Red Bull system left to get into management and now back with Red Bull in New York. Isn't the Red Bull recruitment all done on data like Brentford get young players and improve them?

Just looking at that young lads stats and they make some interesting reading

18 appearances of which 10 were starts. He's got 1 assist and 0 goals and has an average of 1 shot every 2 games. Also gives away possession 8 times per game on average and makes 1 tackle per game.

At least we're improving on lundstram!
