So what radio stations do all the high brow intellectuals on here listen to ?
I flutter between 6 music, talk sport, 5 live ,
Mostly Steve lamac on 5 live as I'm a bit of an indie/punk nerd.
I only ask because any time any one says they listen to (insert any number of radio stations) they seem to get an avalanche of , why the fuck do you listen to that shite .....
Most people on here must drive around listening to white noise ...
I just subscribe to a few podcasts and listen to them on my work jaunts. Fallen out of love with music big time over the years. Quite like Andy Goldstein & Jason Cundy on talksport, and Paul Coit on early breakfast, but the rest..meh

Wife has a variety of radio stations playing on different Alexa's round the house. Capital, virgin and radio 2 being the choices. All shite.

I didn't know Oostende was on the coast.

In fact I wasn't even sure if Belgium had a coast.
It’s not a large expanse sort of sandwiched in between Dunkirk and Holland but yeah Oostende is a seaside town.

Blessin‘s CV looks incredibly underwhelming...in fact it’s crap.
He’s only played at small clubs at a low level....he retired when he was 38.
Then he waits until he’s 46 to become a 1st team coach at Oostende.
He only has 1 year experience as a coach at a really small club in a crap league.....agree he’s done really well there....but it’s only 1 year.

So does anyone know what the attraction is?
Why are we showing interest on what appears to be a total novice? It’s not making sense.

He did some impressive things in the youth setup at RB Leipzig sandwiched in between retiring as a player & taking over at Oostende. He had a good reputation in Germany & then did very well in his first season in Belgium.

The attraction is probably that he's cheap & will work within a budget & infrastructure which places Jan Van Winckel quite highly.

Because he learned his trade as a coach in the RB Leipzig youth/development system, which is very highly regarded around the world and produced Hasenhuttl.

He was highly thought of at RB Leipzig as a coach and then has worked wonders with one of the smaller teams in the Belgian league - last year they were close to relegation and this season they have been in and around European places, even above Anderlecht at times.
I agree he lacks experience at first-team level but has a wealth of experience in Germany working with younger players.

To me his playing career is largely irrelevant. Top players rarely make top managers.
I think the attraction is the system he plays (3-5-2), his development of younger players and working to a budget.

Having said all of the above I'm not sure he'd be a good fit for us.

I guessed there must be some attraction.

To be honest sometimes these things are instinct and charisma,
We may have met him and have insider knowledge where we hope/ suspect he might be the next big thing in management.

German managers seem to be coming more and more into fashion and I think he’ll be given more time amongst our fanbase than a known English league manager.
At least no Blade can quote historical facts to slag him off or be negative.....because this guy.....has no negative history....it seems he has little history.
I’d give him a chance though....at least it would be exciting because no one has a clue what to expect.

Have we ever had a German player before? I remember Johannes Ertl but I think he was Austrian.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Ertl was indeed Austrian. Jordan Amissah in the youth set up (goalkeeper) is German/Ghanaian; if you're stretching the definition then Chris Short (centre half, played under Warnock) was born in Münster but to English parents.

Did anyone bother to slog it out listening to TalkSPORT and can tell us what was said in the end?

They're waiting for the Prince of Paper to phone in with their exclusive.

Hoping its similar to Xisco at Watford ... his CV isn't great and he'd only managed about 15 matches before he went to Watford ... however if someone said we'd be where Watford are this time next year we'd all snap their hand off

Products of Leipzig academy directly are non existent. They mainly sign young players from other RB clubs and fast track them to their 1st team but as for producing their own talents directly they dont have any so im not sure whats impressive.

The coaching and development of young players I assume. Where they come from isn't that relevant in this case, is it?

In his pants?

Fast tracking young players would be kind of useful right now and is why we are all frustrated with HB. Bring it!
