Yeah that’s the head scratcher for me the only reason I can think for Darren moving on is the new boss is brining his own goalkeeping guy with him because wardy has worked with multiple bosses for years.

Harsh to put Moore in the same bracket as the others, was a decent signing in league one and helped us with promotion. (We ain't had a decent solid keeper since Kenny)

I don’t think there was a falling out, Knilly will follow Wilder once he reveals where he is going. He’s already turned down the job he was offered hasn’t he, he’s just waiting for his pay off I would imagine.

Absolutely and I'm always conscious that from the outside, you're just stabbing in the dark when it comes to this kind of thing. Who knows what Norwoods VO2 max levels were compared to last season or whether Enda was still doing as many hard runs?

However, to the naked eye we've just looked slower, less strong as games went on and there's no doubt we've picked up more injuries.

The reasons behind this could be multiple but if I were to pinpoint the main reason we've shit the bed this year, it's that we've been second best physically in pretty much every game. This isn't revisionist either, if you look at our first season in the Championship we had similar struggles post Christmas, where some games we were just not at the races.

I think we've been top of the league in terms of distance covered. Possibly a case of not using energy effectively, partly for tactical reasons.

This is to be expected really. 2 of them are Wilder men and Ward has been there so long and has kind of become a Wilder man.

It's not uncommon that a new guy will want to bring in his own conditioning coach for the way wants to play neither coach nor keeper coach. Darren Ward has done well to last it out so long under differing managers.

Heckingbottom will revert back U23s and you'd imagine Currie, Colgan and Tindall unless he gets the job will depart; why would he? He failed at Bournemouth as no 1 in the exact same situation.

No issue with this outcome. As they say "that's football."

What I do have issue with is the unnecessarily abrupt nature of the note.

Now you could argue by not extolling the virtues of Wilder in the first instance, they've made a rod for their own back to not eulogise about his support staff.

It's disappointing that in the whole of the organisation that is SUFC - and let's be fair Prince Abdullah didn't hand craft this note - not one person spoke up to suggest a paragraph on each, and formerly on Wilder's magnificent tenure.

This could have been added at no expense, would have created some goodwill and not continued to douse petrol and what was evidently an acrimonious departure.

Bit of grace Gentlemen. Even a bit on Chris, though late, would have at least addressed the first error rather than compounding it.

I'm guessing that can be correlated to our low possession stats as opposed to our CBs causing overloads in the final 3rd.

Even so I'd be amazed if Lundstram Norwood fleck have been putting up high numbers in that area... But then how do their numbers compare to last season??

Setting aside the rather unnecessary “Cheers, see ya” statement, seems a strange move to lose some of these long term staff.

Henderson on Darren Ward in T’Star:-

“The best goalkeeping coach I've ever worked with. He's brought me on leaps and bounds in every aspect of the game - mentally, physically, tactically - and the sessions are brilliant.

“I look forward to coming into work every day, and long may that continue. If I could work with Wardy for the next couple of years, I really think I can elevate to one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

Hopefully the Prince’s chosen replacement is better.

Obviously the work these staff have done over the last x amount of years has been great and contributed to success, but christ some of the reaction, especially on social media, is cringeworthy.

Blaming the club for lack of a 'full statement' expressing eternal gratefulness etc etc. Really?!

The staff will have wanted to leave just like Wilder did. They aren't been forced out. Any new manager needs to create his own environment and team. Its part and parcel of football.

Did CW actually have too much control over SUFC? Lots of comparisons to him being 'our Sir Alex' well look at the hangover Man Utd had once he left.

Whilst the staff may well have loyalty to CW, and rightly so, they should also check who pays their wages if that is true.
