Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to the forum after much browsing but wanted to share my new book with you all if that's okay. It's called Saturday, 3pm and is an illustrated picture book for both children and adults about the first time my Dad took me to BDTBL.

It's done pretty well so far and even won some fancy awards, but it's been quite hard to spread the word when we can't even get to the Lane ourselves, so I thought here would be a great place. I think it's a book that will seem familiar to most blades, and lots of people have said it's the closest they can get to feeling like they're living the match-day experience right now. A big thanks to https://www.shorehamst.com/, who are also stocking the book, for the photo!

Here's a link for anyone interested, I'd love to know what you think of it. https://www.zoeellison.com/shop/saturday-3pm
Thanks, UTB!

Order placed Zoe, always happy to support stuff like this. Hope it goes well.

The title is reminiscent of that unfortunately named Simon & Garfunkel album. Looks great though, good luck!

Hahaha Thanks, SouthEssexBlade. I had a good go so I'll not steal zoeellison thunder. I will however post details about my exhibition when we have sorted it. It might mention the book. :)

Exhibition sounds great! I’ll keep an eye out for your post.

Duly snaffled. That was your cover on last Autumn's DEM fanzine wasn't it?

Received the book today zoeellison .

Your first experience of United was almost identical to my own. You put it all together very well, I enjoyed it.

Love the illustration style - just can’t quite make out the figure in one of them who appears to be slipping out of a back door holding a paper bag....?

Seriously - really like these kinds of books and a treasured memory for me will always be my first game I ever saw. Went with my mum who was a season ticket holder. Night match versus Spurs very early 60s. Sounds and smells of that night remain with me but most of all entering the stands to see that dazzling emerald, floodlit pitch. Hooked for life :)

Thank you so much! You’ll have to point out which illustration you mean as I’m not sure.. they’re all based on sketches/photos of real people from the lane so it could be someone dodgy sneaking out haha. I’m really glad it resonates with you 😊

I think it was a Chris Wilder joke 😆

Speaking of Wilder, here’s me and the man himself with my original copy before lockdown 1. He asked me to show him the final version when it was published, obviously that never happened!6C68DF66-BAEF-4B23-94C6-AC025CCC850A.jpeg

Love stuff like this involving the Blades, just Ordered Zoe.
Good Luck.

Received my book by Zoe this morning - a really great effort IMHO and such a welcome change for me from the usual digital stuff that sometimes has no soul to it.

Loved the pic of the old Pukka Pie - unbeatable on a cold November afternoon and yet rarely seen in any top Michelin starred restaurants, and kinda made me look forward to forthcoming Saturday afternoons again in the Championship where my season ticket mate and me can enjoy a couple of pints and some decent nosebag before we cheer the lads on from the Kop.

Am going to send it on to my 34 year old daughter in London who's been a Bladette for 29 years now...!

Nice one Zoe
