Goldie, you were amazing today but.....

As said by many before, he if could finish regularly he wouldn't be playing for Sheffield United!
His effort levels, ability on the ball and vision are fabulous and he's still our very best player. That miss today, though, was a killer.
Hope he's fit for next season. He could be the player of the year for us in the Championship.

Sounds like he didn't train much this week so to put in a 90 minute shift and still pushing forward at the end was a real credit to him. I love watching his silky skills but I just wish he could kick the ball a bit harder! (And every forward in the country has missed chances like that one so let's not be too harsh on him).

Imagine if McBurnie had actually ventured into the penalty box.
That would be daft, wouldn’t it.
He’d be very lonely, invariably off side and, in any event, no one would be in a position to pass to him.
He’d be better off running into a few opponents and trying to help the midfield out.

At 30k per week I would think he is being paid enough to demonstrate that he can put the ball in the net from 4 yds out.!

You could clearly see he was trying to put it back past the directing the keeper was going. He wasn't trying to miss, but I'm sure you know that. These things happen. I remember Connor Sammon missing one from much closer and he was utter dogshit.

Spot on Fred ! He is a great footballer If he had the finishing to his game he would have been an England player as he is English,no hanging about waiting for Ireland to snap him up.
Yesterdays miss was typical of him ,Will be a frustrated player as that would have given him and us a semi, dont think he has one on his CV.
Will be an important player for us next season as he still looks really fit just like Billy who will hopefully be important next season.
Hope the new manager thinks the same they still have a lot to give us,in my opinion !!!

McGoldrick provokes the old binary thinking, just like the Wilder vs the Prince debate. It’s possible to think both that he’s an excellent player, but also that his finishing and sometimes even just his ability to strike the ball properly are pretty abysmal. That miss yesterday, and the bizarre attempt to chip Fraser Forster, are just the most recent examples. We all love him, as he’s just about the only player with any craft and guile in the squad and has been for some time now, but dear God, he’s frustrating at times.

on top of the failed lob over the keeper the missed header maybe 34 is a good time for a newer model
he was a vintage capri ghia in mint condition when he came

but the rust is starting to pull through, and one of the headlight bulbs has gone

Mousset - Lotus. Lots of trouble usually serious

Lunny - anything made by British Leyland in the 70's. Looks good for 5 minutes then falls to pieces

Not sure about giving us a semi. Momentarily exciting but......

By a country-fucking-mile he is our best player!

Without him we'd be completely and utterly fucked. Rather than just fucked!

Those wanting rid of him?? WTF? Surely our issues this season are not having enough good players on the pitch. But hey, let's sell the only one we have? Maybe Luke Freeman can leap from forest's reserves and be a game changer for us next season...

It certainly was. If that was any other team, he’d have gone down when pushed as he went past him and it would have been a dead very penalty

Works very hard, owns his mistakes. The guy just gets it, I love him (how many flair players do you see putting the tackles in he does).

Hopefully the fact he’s spent so much of his career injured means he’s got a few more miles left on the clock for us.

It was brilliant to see the support Blades gave him when he was searching for his first Premier league goal for us.

I'm surprised how little he has played with Billy and how often we've gone to pairings that simply do not work instead.

Didzy is not a good finisher. Exhibit A yesterday and to be honest Exhibit B vs Southampton where he tried to lob a giant of a man when through on goal rather than hammering it low on the floor like any decent finisher would.

I'd like to see a bit of McBurnie and Brewster, replaced by Billy and Didzy. I think these could be regular changes next season.

I'd be surprised if Mousse is here and if he is, then if he's fit. And Burke has his pace but seldom is there any end product.
