Anyone in any doubt about Wilder possibly losing the dressing room must accept that today was a revelation. Every player, including Lunny, up for it. Excellent performance and we really should have scored 2. No need for wholesale clearouts, and Hecky might be our man?

If you believe wilder lost the dressing and today was a revelation then think back
Didn’t wilders team beat Chelsea 🤔🤔
After last week the players could not play any worse individuals or collectively and any performance would have been better
But happy with the better commitment from the squad

As Wilder's 2nd to last game was a backs-to-the-wall win with 10 men, and our first game without him was our worst performance of the season, I'm not sure about this "lost the dressing room" stuff. Sometimes things just need freshening up. This may have been one of those times. I guess time will tell.

We beat Chelsea last season before Wilder morphed into a Sunday league manager. This season under Wilder we were shite and there was a clear lack of effort from the players. Much better today but we still need to add some pace and power to the team.

And so it begins. Forget a lifetime in football, with almost unblemished success.

Take a team and improve on a 5-0 drubbing, yet still lose. Talk well in the press. Total duration - 1 week. Why not give him the job then?

You couldn’t make it up.:)

Aye, a 5-0 and a 2-0 defeat.

The case is closed! 😂

That second half was as good as anything we’ve served up in the last 12 months in my view.

if you can watch that and tell me there would have been any complaints Fronanyone watching if we had taken it to extra time then fair enough. But my main point is the players didn’t revert into Sunday league scuffed without wilder there did they?

I’m not clocking last week up to anything other than distraught players to be honest.

We were decent today - accepted.

What I’d guard against is that creeping habit of adding far too much significance to recent / short term performance.

Heckinbottom might be a great manager, so might you, or I. But there’s little evidence for either, and we shouldn’t start looking for it where none exists.

Literally 3 games ago, Chris Wilder's 10 man Sheffield United beat Villa.

Mind boggling

We also failed to have a shot or touch in their box against Fulham for the best part of 70 minutes and didn’t even attempt to win that game against another likely relegated side. And then came out saying we couldn’t possibly compete with them.

the main point is that there’s some hope the players won’t all revert to league one scuffers without Chris here. For the record I am pro wilder but if he wanted to be here he still would be imo.

Before we pass judgment that quick let’s see how it goes between now and the end of the season

I agree - short termism is obviously inherent when looking at players and performances.

That’s fair enough, not suggesting heckingbottom should be given a job. But it was nice to see some positives in a season for far to few, and if we can get players back in form and get some points on the board it can only help for next season whoever is in charge

Whilst the op could be true it could also be that the players have had a good hard look at themselves and a chat and realised they cost the gaffer his job and so are holding each other accountable.

No no no we were awful for 45 minutes though even then showed energy that’s been missing or so it seemed
Don’t be sucked in Higgy not up to building and reshaping a team at Chsmpionship level

Does that not pass judgement on what he left behind ? Case wide open.
I wasn’t passing any judgment on Wilder there. Fact is, we’ve lost 2 games and people are looking for things that aren’t there (good or bad), regarding the current management.

Wilders team beat Chelsea last season silly, this season they beat us 4-1 and 3-0, or was it 2-0 but point is the same.
