Like legends before him Mr Wilder will pass into the mists of time, to be remembered when old men sit around a pub table drinking strong ale, reciting stories of the good old days,
They will tell stories of a great managers, fabulous players, and wonderous victory's, and of other great Blades teams that they have urged on to glory over the years, with their cheers, chants and songs on our Shoreham Street kop,
We don't judge our teams by the cups, titles and trophy's, that anyone who has enough money can buy, we judge them by their guts,, loyalty and their commitment to the club, fair play and us the supporters......
Because we are the Blood, Bone. breath, and the very life and soul of this club, and no matter who Owns or managers it _ WE are UNITED.....

Am I correct in thinking that ex Blades and Leeds striker and long time Foreigner guitarist, Mick Jones used to be in Spooky Tooth? Or was that just a cheese fuelled dream?

Nope, that's right, he was one of four Michaels in Spooky Tooth.

Former Sheffield United player and manager Steve Thompson was in the band at some point, too.

At moment not right time for tributes he's left under a cloud, none of us know truth behind it, we know what he's done, he knows what he's done. He will never be forgotten let's face it it's the fans that idolised him not the board, they'll just keep plodding on rambling through life naming stands after some athlete that said once she liked the Blades.

I don't know how he can be honoured in years to come, no other manager has a statue and I can name one that is fully deserving of one. He was a Blade yes and loved United, well I'm a Blade and love United but who'll remember me when I pop off this mortal coil.

I remember reading an article some years ago that Mike Harrison (RIP) after a concert was on the receiving end of some flack having played "Better by you, Better than me". Some in the audience thought the original by Judas Priest was better!!!

There'll be a full and proper tribute when the animosity dies down I'd imagine. But it's unlikely he's left on the best terms.

The best thing for everyone will be Wilder getting another job. Then hopefully the bitterness that people currently have will dissipate a little

Best thing that could happen is a dawning realism on behalf of this inexperienced board that Wilder is the best person for the job and Wilder acknowledging that a proper Blade might swallow his pride. If there was a reconciliation that would give this club and fanbase an unbelievable boost for next season. I have a dream.

Agree SLB, the ride was amazing, pride, chest bumping etc - loved it

But we will start next season one division above where we were 6 years ago when CW rode into town

Imagine if every club in the land erected a statue of a manager who spent a few years there and improved them by 1 division..

Hope the truth comes out, but can’t help but feel CW knew what he was doing and forced the issue

We’re all Blades on here, if PA offered you £20k pw, but you had to work with a DoF and sell a couple of players to balance the books, would you get the mardys on?
Most would do the job, clean the kit, cut the grass for £2k a week!!

Presumably he went on to open Bartons with those huge, huge pizzas - another good place to eat - especially late at night. It was somewhere at the back of West Street near the top of Division Street, wasn't it?

Yep, love Free, although a tad before my time. Tons Of Sobs is as good a debut album as you can get. I've always wondered whether Ozzy and Sabbath heard the track Moonshine and it totally influenced their direction. You can definitely hear it when you listen.

What else should we expect from rich people who haven't been able to get what they want from the new plaything (well I say new, but its now been discarded to the corner of the nursery in favour of other sporting play things).
