Eddie Howe article

He’s up there of the managers I know about. Unless we can pull a rabbit out of a foreign market hat. That has to be a massive risk though.

He did well at Bournemouth, which was his club.

He failed at Burnley though.

Who knows whether we'd get Bournemouth Eddie or Burnley Eddie.

Howe does sound like a manager very similar to Wilder in that he controlled everything at Bournemouth. So whether he'd want to come in with a Director of Football imposing players on him, who knows.

He'd be ideal.
A manager who got a team through the divisions to the Prem only to be relegated after a season of excessive injuries and consequent loss of form of the rest?
Wouldn't be a million miles further on from keeping CW happy would it?

No link to the Blades at all

Howe has probably the best credentials on that sorry sad list the bookies have put up

Do I think he'd be interested? Not sure tbh? Not even sure it would be anything against the club, but more about logistics. Does he want to move North? Not so sure?

My only wish is that none of the other long list of no marks on that bookies list are anywhere near the Princes short list, but if they are, we're fooked!

Best option would be to put CW on gardening leave and tell him to go away and have a full rest and come back in the summer to start again building a team for the Championship title.

Failing that, then Eddie Howe would be a decent shout.

But he is still way behind CW in my ideal choice. CW just needs to reset himself but if the dynamics of the working relationship have dissolved to the extent that we are led to believe then it looks like that ship has now sailed. Still gutted to see him go and I could hardly sleep last night because of it. Sad I know.

From the bookies list, the only name that I see having a fair crack of the whip from United fans would be Eddie Howe. It’s the only name that would placate me somewhat. However, whilst I do think the profile of the club could be of interest to Howe, I suspect the geography wouldn’t. If we were 100 miles further south, he’d probably be all over it.

There are some similarities between Wilder and Howe. Both linked with all sorts of top jobs before relegation seasons. Both built up clubs from not a lot to work with. We’ve got some good young players which would suit a decent playing style, some of which Howe has already worked with. Of course, the preference is for Wilder to stay, but if I had to pick someone to replace him I’d go for Eddie Howe.

I don't see it, why would anyone want to put them selves through that again after having been there once before.?
If he's that good he'll be looking for a job were he has a chance of at least moderate success after a promotion...
Can't see it being an old hand....

Up until last season Howe was doing a cracking job and being linked with getting a chance at a bigger club. Much like Wilder though, one terrible season and his stock has gone down a fair bit. He was criticised much like Wilder though for poor signings and not getting the best out of the money he spent. Good manager though but like other have said, only ever done it at Bournemouth so a little risky.

It'd be another singular act of self harm unless he's given a Bounemouthesque blank cheque book.
