Since when has anybody tagged onto us for the glory.

Even as a Premier League club there are only 27,000 - 28,000 of our own fans in the stadium, and it will be the same people in the stadium for the Championship.

The counter argument is that we didn’t sell out every game last time we were in the Championship and never average more than mid to high 20’s as a Championship club so there will be a drop off.

I think that our fan base is quite fickle, even in the PL after 10+ years away we didn’t sell out all available games (I know some of this was down to poor ticketing policies etc.). We tend to sell out for big teams home and then games with something riding on it (promotion, play-offs, cup latter rounds).

With the pent up absence from grounds I think next season would be a decent crowd first game if we are allowed to go.

I would be surprised if stadiums are fully open in August.

Covid has plenty of legs left in it and it just takes a mutation that the vaccines struggle to work with and we're back to square one

Will it just be home fans only next season if allowed back or will away fans be allowed as well. I won't be surprised if the Government still don't have DON'T TRAVEL UNLESS YOU HAVE TO scheme to try and keep the number of COVID 19 cases down.

To be fair, I think that was the premise of the original question, looking at the poll.

Personally I expect there'll still be some strict restrictions in place. We'll soon see anyway, now the kids are back and the numbers are likely to go squiffy once again.

All restrictions are to be lifted on 21st June, that hasn't changed thus far.
At present moment, of course we're getting a full house.

Just because they are lifted does not mean thar everything is back to normal. There are many restrictions that are likely to remain and packing people in grounds/ toilets may well be one of them.

Only use every other turnstile and place hand sanitisers outside every turnstile that's in use

so I quite rightly assumed you would not be going if Wilder was in charge

Totally agree...rise in infections is not an issue if it does not lead to serious illness/death and hospitalisation and the early evidence from vaccines is it will achieve exactly this. In fact it is preferable given it will provide greater herd immunity. The efficacy of the vaccines are c90% across the board after a single shot and only slightly increase after the second (albeit will likely provide longer immunity). Take up is c90%. The SAGE modelling influencing the lock down/opening up is based on the Flu vaccine, c70% take up and c60% efficacy. A normal year between 10k-30K deaths from Flu (apparently none this year...bollox!) by end of this month excess deaths will fall significantly below 5year rolling average. If the above as expected plays out and restrictions remain in place beyond June and as a country we accept and comply then more fools us!

Pretty confident of 33% limit but with some countries like Brazil not taking up vaccines more variants could emerge and that would then depend on another jab and stadiums could again be empty by November if the jab delayed

I don't mean to put a downer on things, but do honestly people think we are going to be "back to normal" by August? Unfortunately, this pandemic will go on for many years now, the virus will mutate (which it already has) and we will have outbreaks of new strains and measures will be in place. So not a full stadium will not in place for a very long time. The phrase "back to normal" is a comment that our useless government has said not leading health experts.

Don't forget we were going to be "back to normal" for summer last year, then Christmas, then Easter. Please put things into perspective and be realistic.

i’d imagine it goes something like: research gets undertaken without the results getting published, local nhs heads get briefed or have friends in research, and the news trickles down as rumours within NHS Trusts

We used to get all sorts of info working in hospital long before things were published in media, but it all depended on how strict the managers were with confidential info from meetings
