what a teamView attachment 106488
Is that the old, old JSS in the background? My grandad is on the back row, so I’m pretty sure it’s the Sheffield City Police team from the mid 30s.
Great memory there. Hope you have caught that newish film about Laurel and Hardy - very good. On Netflix I think.
Dibble in goal?what a team
Frost Dixon Lewis Gentley Starsky Hutchinson Columbo
Peel Oldbill Rosser Vera Clouseau Makepiece Dempsey
Last paragraph tells it exactly as it was, before the game we met some Palace fans in the pub and they said hope you lose but not like we did last year as it was heartbreaking, later the same evening we met some more Palace fans in a pub around Victoria, who were very sympathetic as they had gone through the same emotions the season before, (bastards)An article from 17 years ago, just as relevant today, especially given how this season has panned out. I suggest you avoid the final paragraph

Hindsight is a wonderful thing ATS, here's my list of what's slipped through my fingers, all bought and sold mid/late 60s, 1959 beetle, sold for £100, 1953 Citroen light 15 (Maigret car) sold £100,1959 500cc BSA Gold Star sold £50 all net worth today? 30k+Some great shots of the Veedubs. Makes you wish you had kept one under wraps.
If only eh. If only. VW Beetles my thing. Saying that bought a 1980 Mini clubman estate in 88 for £75 , 30k miles on clock ( minter). Sold it in 1996 for £475 no kidding sold within an hour of going in the local paper and must have had 20 phone calls over the weekend. Dread to think what one would fetch now.Hindsight is a wonderful thing ATS, here's my list of what's slipped through my fingers, all bought and sold mid/late 60s, 1959 beetle, sold for £100, 1953 Citroen light 15 (Maigret car) sold £100,1959 500cc BSA Gold Star sold £50 all net worth today? 30k+
If it is the Police, it looks like they were short and have coerced ‘Mad Frankie Fraser’ to turn out for them, stood next to the keeperView attachment 106488

I believe the Railway is 184, so properties usually number from town, that makes in in the row of shops that were on the left going up from the Earl. Only a guess though.Barbers at 294 Bramall Lane (where would this be nowadays?)
Something for the weekend, sir?

In the early 50s on the left up from the Earl there was an archway leading to a Spiritualist meeting room, we used to sneek up there, push open the door, scream the best spooky screams we could and run for our lives before the ghosts or whatever could catch us, luckily none ever didI believe the Railway is 184, so properties usually number from town, that makes in in the row of shops that were on the left going up from the Earl.
