Would you want Wednesday to get relegated to league one?

I don’t know what my answer would be, because whilst I despise them, I don’t think I’d like to see them spend 30+ years outside the top flight. It comes to a point where it just sucks the life out of the cities love for football.
Maybe I’m biased because some close members of my family are pig fans, but sometimes I look across the city and it’s just a bit depressing.

BUT, we are going down, and them lot going down as well DOES soften the blow somewhat.

Well both sides have not been in the top flight for approaching 30 years. There's no obvious flow of money into the city for even one of the teams to have the budget required for the top flight, let alone two sides.

Fan base counts for nothing, if it did, the pigs wouldn't have been outside the top flight in the same time that Bournemouth, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Wigan etc. have been there.

Simply because of the way that they run their club.
I have good mates who support them and feel sorry for them watching it all fall down. I would hate that to be us. However, the club itself has to get it's just deserts or it will just carry on slithering it's way through.

I'd appoint really crap managers and give them a shoestring budget and I would Immediately sell any potential rising star that came through the ranks, if I left any ranks for them to come through.

So you meant flow of money in to the club, which can only happen once per city, despite one having a Thai multi millionaire owner and one having a Saudi multi millionaire owner?

I don't think it's likely they'll ever both have Premier League type wealth owners either, but I don't accept that the City of Sheffield somehow restricts it to one. Both clubs are plenty big enough to do it if the stars aligned investment-wise.

My Dad is one of these that believes both clubs should be merged, or dissolved and one club should be formed because it would be one of the best supported clubs in the country.

He doesn't seem to realise that two shit clubs would become one shit club, it would still be from Sheffield at the end of the day, so failure and ordinariness will be built into its DNA, and it'll be as cheap and tacky as a zip up wardrobe.

He also doesn't understand that just because 50,000 turn up to watch two clubs it doesn't mean that 50,000 will turn up to watch one club.

And I also wonder why this is only ever mentioned by various sources when it's them who are on the brink of ruination, but when United are we can just drop dead and nobody would give a toss.
