I think it depends on how many key players we can hang on to, as others have said.
The likes of JOC Egan Rammy (yes Rammy) Berge, we would be looking at another 100 point promotion season
Love your positivity Espania... I think there's more chance of us doing a Stoke than getting 100 points even if we keep those players!!

The alternative isn't that great! it's like when you are getting old..... it sucks....but the alternative isn't great

Actually i believe that this is why we brought in a back up squad in the summer, - "continuity" the fact that so many of our first team are either injured, lost form at a startling rate, or are just rubbish wasn't factored in so the back up squad are now filling first team places out of need (i couldn't spell necessity 🤣), nobody can really blame CW for that, it has been a bit extreme this year if you factor in the loss of "the crowd factor" - I can still complain about his tactics though 🤣

Berge would be a beast in the Championship... I really think the Summer will test the Prince's mettle... it's stick or twist time... stick with our epl side and give it a real go for promotion... adding a couple of decent additions where required.. or dismantle and rebuild. Feel a mix of both is required... I would take a goal of promotion in two seasons with sufficient rebuild in the process
Thing is, to dismantle and re-build can only be done if players are out of contract or we get bids in for our players. Not many are out of contract this summer and I can't see many having suitors based on current performances! Berge and O'Connell to only likely departures for me, Poissibly Egan. So I think next season, assuming we get relegated, about 8 of the current regulars will be regulars next season.

I’m not so sure it depends on recruitment because I don’t foresee a mass exodus. Imo if we recruit 4 players for the first team and hit on them then we’re good to go 2 midfielders 1 DM 1 AM and 2 centrebacks.
weve 4 players who could possibly move egan joc berge and baldock i think 2 will be sold 4 or 5 will be moved on and like you yogi expect about 4 new players to come in and dont see any reason why we cant be in top 6 next season a couple of good midfielders to supply the ammunition and weve definetly got the strikers good enough for the championship

Yep I like our striking options a lot it looks like we’ve got two very promising young wingbacks, a young goalkeeper who will improve with experience and some good experienced pieces at centreback who just need supplementing sort out the midfield and we’ll be good to go.

well although were minnows in the premier league we will be giants in the championship so surely we wont have a problem attracting a couple of top championship midfielders

In theory no we shouldn’t there’s just not any really jumping out at me that fit our profile.

He’s a good footballer but he doesn’t seam to fit with us

He’s great on the ball and tough to knock off but he needs to be a lot sharper, a prem midfielder has to be quick of thought and feet, and at the minute he looks like a central defender stuck in the middle out of position. Theres‘s no question to his qualities but at the minute he’s the polar opposite of what we need.

I still find it crazy how harsh some fans are about our players that lost their form after/during a global pandemic.

Mean that about our stalwarts more than Berge.
I think it shows how detached from reality some people are and how they expect players to be robots.
He's a massively talented young player who is technically levels above everyone else in our midfield. He's had to settle into a new country, where he's been locked down so can't go out and mix, can't go home, just left to rattle around his no doubted nice apartment.
At the same time professionally he's having to adapt to a much higher standard of play, in a formation and style he's not used to, with a team he can't mix or try and bond with outside of training all while the rest of the squad are struggling for form and results. However little or no grace is given to him on this, he's just laid into and thrown in with the other vastly more experienced players who've form has been poor.

My only concern with keeping him next year is I'm not sure how suited he is for the Championship due to it's muck and nettles style, however it's certainly possible he could thrive and really help his development. He could be a serious Rolls-Royce at a lower level, coming back up with the experience and confidence needed to have improved, along with several others of the youngsters like McB, Brewster, and Burke.

If we are relegated I personally hope we keep him given what we spent, as he's got the attributes that I'd like us to build our next iteration of our midfield around, be that with a double pivot, flat three or with a more creative player behind the front two.

Aston Villa are reportedly keeping a keen eye on the situation of Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge.
According to Eurosport, Villa are the early favourites to sign the 23-year-old and they are currently watching him as a potential target

At least they're likely to pay the going rate if they want him

He doesn't seem to be a mardy arse so if he doesn't get the you say he craves I think he will knuckle down to playing a part in a promotion push next season .
Wilder says he could be on his way ! that's just talk at this stage .
Wilder and the prince have already said no one is going unless we get a really good deal .
Berge obviously will like to stay in the prem will some team come in and pay what we want ? If not he will be a useful player for us next season.
We are not in a position any more to have to sell we have prem money and parachute payments which go for 3 years hopefully we wont need them.

Happy to hear Villa is interested, we might get a nice bit of cash coming our way, as they tend to overpay... by a lot.

I,I,I,I,I’m ....... not your stepping stone, stepping stone!

I'd prefer £30 million and no Connor Hourihane
yeah fair enough all about opinions ive always rated hourihane especially at championship level one things for certain we need at least 2 probably 3 new midfielders to come in this summer

Berge stays. But I think I’d consider £35 and Hourihane
