I think it shows how detached from reality some people are and how they expect players to be robots.
He's a massively talented young player who is technically levels above everyone else in our midfield. He's had to settle into a new country, where he's been locked down so can't go out and mix, can't go home, just left to rattle around his no doubted nice apartment.
At the same time professionally he's having to adapt to a much higher standard of play, in a formation and style he's not used to, with a team he can't mix or try and bond with outside of training all while the rest of the squad are struggling for form and results. However little or no grace is given to him on this, he's just laid into and thrown in with the other vastly more experienced players who've form has been poor.
My only concern with keeping him next year is I'm not sure how suited he is for the Championship due to it's muck and nettles style, however it's certainly possible he could thrive and really help his development. He could be a serious Rolls-Royce at a lower level, coming back up with the experience and confidence needed to have improved, along with several others of the youngsters like McB, Brewster, and Burke.
If we are relegated I personally hope we keep him given what we spent, as he's got the attributes that I'd like us to build our next iteration of our midfield around, be that with a double pivot, flat three or with a more creative player behind the front two.
