How does that make him a proper manager ?

It sounds like this is becoming regular, away teams changing away from the ground or poor facilities. Seems like gamesmanship and needs stopping

We don't call him "MR"

Tread carefully son..

Cricks is probably better than the Platinum Suite these days 🙂

We know the transfer budget is slim if we’re sending oppo teams to the local to get changed.

Always thought the club should buy the pubs next to the ground. Would be great for the fans and community. I'd be surprised if they reopen when they are allowed.

As long as they kept the prices as they are and not match the prices you have to pay in the ground, it would be a good idea.

Golden Lion's gone under. That won't be reopening until they get a new owner.

Sorry to hear that the Lion has gone. Have had an odd pint in there before/after games. Back street boozer.

I've always felt the Club should open build a big boozer on the corner of Shoreham Street and Cherry Street and call it either "The Boundary Edge" or "The Grinder's Stand", obviously a nod to our cricketing past.

Covid has absolutely destroyed what was an already decimated pub scene. I dread to think what will happen to cricketers, golden lion etc - didn’t realise the latter had gone under but not exactly a surprise given current situation.

Honestly for me going to pub before and after to speculate what will happen and dissect what just happened is almost as good as the match itself (under Adkins the pub was better than the match most of the time).

Don’t want to get all emotional about it but football is changing, and not for the better. Whether it’s increased corporate nonsense, VAR, money going to the elite, and now the fact we can’t go to BDTBL its not the game it was.

Still love United and maybe it’s worse because we’re losing all the time, but can’t help but feel things won’t ever feel like they did.

On another note, highly unlikely but can you imagine we somehow go on to win the Cup and we can’t be there to witness and celebrate it.

1% of me doesn’t want us to do it just because I’d always be gutted to have not been there.

Anyway, ramble over. Hope we’re back in the cricketers and at the Lane soon!

We should do what some other teams do, offer the away team a smaller cramped changing room, a smaller subs bench to sit at (I'm certain Leicester do this).

Slightly off topic but in Ice Hockey, the Nottingham Panthers used to have their bench further down the ice away from the away team bench and centre line so they could make line changes quicker.

Obviously was a tongue in cheek comment and I dont think things such as changing rooms / benches makes any difference to a team (there was something the other year about Norwich painting the away teams room pink, and some psychology behind it). If a team moans about stuff like that, they are beaten before they step onto the pitch. Years ago i knew a few of the Rotherham team, and when West Ham refused to get changed at Millmoor it did the pre match talk for them. My mates said that in the tunnel the Rotherham lads were giving the west ham players so much hammer and physical digs (pushing shoving etc) and were genuinely offended that other pro's thought they were above their ground that there was no way they were going to lose. And Rothers beat them that day.

Yes, they got changed in what is now the Holiday Inn at Canklow. My Miller missus still slags Rio off for it every time she sees him 🤣

Why? He'd left them a few years before that match.

Is she confusing him with his brother?
