There were a few instances on Saturday when Micky shouted instructions to players from the touchline and the player either ignored him or shouted back at him. The worst culprit (and incidentally the worst United player on the field IMO)was Yeates.

Micky needs to show that he is in charge by enforcing his players to do as they are instructed. If they don't want to, then the consequences are that they lose the shirt.

I can understand players not liking being shouted to on the pitch, but there is a difference between shouting to players (with instructions) and shouting at players (like Blackwell often did) to publicly tell them off. My seat is close enough to the "technical area" to hear the difference and Micky does shout to players.

Yeates should have been concentrating on doing what he was told to do Saturday, most of his time on the pitch was simply shocking, I wouldn't pay him this week if he worked for me

romour is Adams has had a massive fall out with Ward and Yates and is only playing him because of our small squad and Ward will never play for us again while Adams is here.

Yates was shocking saturday and never beat his man or put a good ball in.

Except the best ball of the game where he beat his man and fired one to the back post where their defender headed it over for a corner ;)

Admittedly needs to do more, but it's all the more frustrating when we know he can do it like the instance above!

Very odd, before Adams came I spoke to Yeates after Norwich away. He genuinely appeared to have the interests of the club and the fans at heart, and was a decent bloke in all honesty, I think a run in the side will do him the power of good tbh, the amount of times he has been in and out would probably piss most players off!

Yeates did have a poor game on saturday but he pretty much single handedly kept us out of the bottom 3 in the first half of the season.

He is totally useless and offers nothing on the pitch, maybe we could get him a job on one of the pie stands!!!!!!!:p

I agree with this. He also had an opportunity to do the same again when we had 2 on 1 on the back post.

Instead he slowly ran into the man and gave him the ball back.

Yeates = oxygen thief. What does he actually offer us? I think he must have a good 15 minutes once every 6 games.

Problem with Yeates is that he is not really a proper winger. He is a floater who is more suited to being in a 4-3-3.
That being said he needs to man up and get on with it when he gets the chance which he didn't on Saturday

And the winger-bashing continues. As does the thread hi-jacking ^^^

bloody wingers.. he never tracks back.. never makes a tackle.. he should be brilliant and consistent even though he gets dropped every other game for no apparent reason.. oh sorry. i thought you were on about cotterill

Update from Reading game

Guess what? Our man Yeats ignored repeated instructions from Micky again last night. The gaffer's frustration was to the point where he turned to the croud behind him and exclamed "Can you see what I'm up against". Micky obvoiusly lost patience with him soon after and subbed him.

IMO United cannot afford to play Yeats who's bad discipline and poor performances make it seem that we are playing with 10 men. He was Reading's best defender last night. They must have relaxed when they saw him get the ball as they knew there would be no worthwhile end product from his play.

Mr Adams, please loan him out somehere permanently.

I think that's an utter joke, mate. Maybe he did ignore instructions from Micky which he needs to sort out but he was still our biggest threat going forward. Admittedly there wasn't much competition for that crown but binning him off would leave us with no link between midfield and attack. Williamson, Quinn and Doyle amble forward at a snail's pace and offer no support on the edge of the box. Yeates is the ONLY player who runs with the ball at his feet and keeps on plugging. Quinn tries but there's nothing incisive about his runs or balls forward.

In the game that I saw last night, Bjorn Helge Riise accomplished more in the few minutes that he was on the Yeates has in the last two home games that I have seen. Yeats will neither listen to instructions or cross the ball when he gets the chance. Instead he tries to dribble until disposessed or cuts inside to make poor attempts at shooting. What's the point in having strikers up front if will not supply the ball to them? Thank god Micky has aquired Bjorn.
