Brewster

That's such a risky strategy though, Brewster is struggling for confidence already, missed that and he's really questioning himself.
Really disappointed with Brewster tonight though. Just not aggressive enough and offered very little.

He was poor tonight but let’s not forget Billy missed that “sitter” before him and nothing has been mentioned.

Send him to the under 23s and don’t let him back into the first team until he’s scored a Hat Trick.

He’s not going to suddenly start scoring in the premier league, and the FA Cup opposition is only going to get harder. He needs time away from the first team to rediscover where the net is.
Wrong keep starting him with Billy just keep playing don’t let him take the easy out extra training the fucking works.

He will get more chances in the championship. He will score goals. Like he has done before. Young lad having to run and chase a lot rather than having a team of superstars lay him on chances. Am a believer
He needs to start putting more yards in. Goals will come and luck will change if he puts the effort in. Billy completely embarrassed him with his movement, running chanels and making a nuisance of himself. Brewster did nothing. We can't afford to carry players.

He did look out of sorts. He plays like someone who's depressed because they've realised they've made a terrible decision. He just can't snap out of it. Next year lad.

He did absolutely nothing right tonight. Nothing seems to come natural to him. I know our slow, boring approach play doesn’t help but he’s got to do far better.

Our options up front look so poor at the moment.

The service we have provided for our forwards has been shite at best this season. I know people love to knock new forwards when they haven't scored at least 9 in their first 10 games but I think people are being unreasonable with Brewster. This lad has a good pedigree and will be our best finisher, well, given the chance. If he had been in the positions that Burke and McBurnie have found themselves in, he would have scored, without doubt. Given the time he has spent with us I think its also unreasonable to think he could just walk into the team and fit in to the way we play, especially as we haven't got the players to make it work. He's used to better players giving him the ball in good positions and I think he is coming to terms with the realisation he is going to have to work hard to get a sniff of a chance with us and also picking up scraps most of the time. We have to give him a chance to settle and fit in, I know we need goals now but we can't just blame him, nobody else is getting them either. As for the fee, well we can't have it both ways can we, you either pay what we did for potential, or 3 to 4 times that for quality, which we can't afford.
He's not got the chances burke and Mcburnie had because he doesn't work hard, anticipate or trouble defenders. I know we lack creativity and I'm sure he will score goals somewhere, but not the way he played tonight.

He needs a fortnight with Chris.
Morgan.
He's soft as shit, and looked about to blub when he was taken off.
If he's on "only" £30000 a week (and I don't know whether he is or not), if he stays a year he's made more money than the average working person in a working lifetime.
That side of football has really gone crazy.

Just finished reading Paddy Kenny's book and he said he got 50% taxed so its still a lot of money for the week but I suppose its true. Surprised me.

On the basis of what we've seen I doubt he actually has a viable career in professional football.

Top rate of tax is now 40%. This is only paid on annual income above about £50000 a year. Most people don't get paid remotely that much. He gets paid 60% of that A WEEK!!!!!
I think that for that, some effort and interest in the job is required.

I really do feel sorry for him, regardless of the money he's making. He's a kid, he looks miserable and if you look at the replies to any tweet from the official account mentioning his name there are a load of cunts hurling abuse. He'll see all that.
ive given up on him after tonight no movement no effort nothing and did notice when he came off wilder seemed to ignore him he wont get away with those performances at sheffield united hes like a mini moose 50m wasted for me on mousset brewster and mcburnie

He doesn't look like the same player on the video clips from his loan spell at Swansea

He’s way off it imo. Appears to lack all the basic instincts of a striker. He doesn’t make great runs, he doesn’t anticipate, he seems off the pace, he’s too slow to react and he doesn’t seem to have much composure.

There could be a few reasons for this, one could be lack of continuous game time, another is that he’s struggling to come to terms with how we move the ball and where he should be expecting the ball to land. It could also be that he’s just not as good as we thought, although I suspect this is the least likely of all outcomes.

There’s talent in there somewhere. He’s looked better when he’s been able to pick the ball up and have a run at defenders and at goal. There’s been a couple of times when he’s played where he has looked dangerous and had defenders back pedalling. He also appears to be able to strike a ball really well.

My biggest concern for him is seeing him in and around the penalty area. He’s a young lad that looks less mobile and slower to react than a 35 year old Billy Sharp. I think he can be coached to add this to his game but tbh, a lot about being a striker is instinctive, it’s not necessarily something that can be taught. Fortunately Sharp is one of the best at this. If Brewster gets one goal I think he’ll have the confidence to trust himself a bit more and get in the right positions. Sometimes that confidence can just breed that instinctiveness.

I’ve wanted him to come good but,.

His off the ball movement is awful..

His touch his poor..

his balance looks all over the place..

I have to be honest... he looks less like a professional footballer than Connor Sammon at this moment in time.. ☹️

I totally agree that the abuse is wrong and no-one should have that hurled at them.
In terms of the money, my dad (who never had any any, worked all his life and died far too young) used to have a response to "money doesn't make you happy".
He said "No, but tha can be miserable in comfort!!".

He looks totally out of sorts. Nothing is coming off for him, he's not putting in enough effort and looks like that kid pushed up to play striker who has never played there before. His movement is poor. His runs are non-existent. His positioning is dire. He never commits. If he'd have chanced on a couple of crosses he'd have had a tap in but he's always on the back foot. slow to react.

I just hope he needs a goal but it is very concerning for a record signing.
