Nixon also talks bollox
He backs that many different horses in the same race he is sure to get something right.
He will change his mind soon and suggest that moose is going back to France and when widely reported that he negotiating with a Turkish club will say that he had no choice as they came in with a bigger offer.
if the bloke were made of chocolate he would lick himself to death, narcissist of the highest order. The other stuff he posts, ie players moving in for more money is statement bloody obvious, sure he gets most of his information from the queue to get into Asda

Nixon reporting in todays rag that CSKA Moscow are interested in Mousset

Also says, that the Blades may be facing an exodus of players as they are on big wage cuts due to relegation. He says several players will not fancy seeing their salaries "halved"

Nowt like stating the obvious I suppose

Well we have to shit or get off the pot re Moose. He's approaching the last year of his contract, if we aren't willing to renew we may as well cash in.

My opinion - mousset is our best (or maybe just most talented) forward and I think it’s worth sticking with him just in case he gets hot again.

that said - we simply haven’t seen enough and there have been injuries and now off field issues to content with. So I can see an argument for getting what we can for him now, especially as he’s not starting or even coming off the bench now.

Wonder if this might be a trade off to allow one more loan signing to be brought in, a last throw of the dice as it were.

Talks bollocks. Who’s going to want to buy them? None have covered themselves in glory have they
Correct Charbuddy! It is possible that a premiership club will see something in a player of ours but we wont lose many ifany to a premiership team ( a load of bollox being put out by Nixon).
None will be happy taking a pay cut ,who is?.perhapes it will stir something in them to get back next season.
We try to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear ! some come off some dont ,we are in that position Wilder is trying to bridge the gap ! without money it is difficult.
Not saying we have gone! but really we have to build for next season.
We will be in a better financial position than previously when in the championship that should give us a good chance to bounce back.
With Wilder at the helm of course , he has put in a structure within the club development level which will stand us in good stead ,dont want a change to ruin the good work put in.

Best we can hope on Mousse is he gets back to fitness, scores a couple of goals and we convince someone he’s worth £8-10 million. We need to stop kidding ourselves that he’s ever going to be anything more than what we know - a physically gifted player who doesn’t have the application to make himself a consistently good contributor at the highest level.

Contributor in the sense of being our best striker in our best season in ages and ages?

Transfer and wages.....

Works out at over £2m a goal.

Yes, but he was a big factor in our staying up via goals and assists, and that brought us another PL season and a hell of a lot of money.

It wasn't like we'd have been playing with 10 men without him.

If we'd bought somebody else they might have scored more, still be scoring and not vanished down the plughole for the last 18 months like he has done.

True, but that’s hypothetical. What did happen was he was our joint top scorer and one of our top assist getters, and was very important early in when we were finding our feet.

in any event, none of Wilders other striker signings since promotion have been any good this season. I don’t think you can assume he’d have signed a better one. Quite the opposite.

For how long was he that though?
Over the season he was our best striker. Over this season who's been better? Didsy and Billy? - IMO Billy should have played much more, but either way, neither of them are the future. I could understand the "get shut" and "can't wait to see the back of him" comments if we were spoilt for choice with on fire strikers, but the singling out of Mousset considering the situation with our strikers and his contribution last season does not make sense.

That’s true but he was only contributing at that level for a short period of time. He’s not come anywhere close to that since and still now doesn’t seem anywhere near it. I’ve never been one to single him out for criticism, and I don’t even really mean to here. But I just think it would be wrong to expect anything more from him beyond the odd spell where he’s very good. Of course if no one is in for him, this is all moot. But if we’ve got someone offering decent money for him, I’d sooner we take it than just hope he’ll suddenly become something he’s not (ie. someone who can contribute at a high level consistently).

Would you extend his contract? That's the crux of the issue imo.

Trouble is with Mousset he's 23/24 injury prone and thinks fuck it I'm getting the money and cant be arsed!!

Yep, got the talent but not the attitude. I wouldn't have enough faith in him to reward him with a new long term contract. He's in his last year next year, so I'd cash in for those reasons.

He don't like being told:

That’s fair.

it depends on how wilder views him.

I would if :
a) his wages reflect our status next season
b) the any offers for him arnt great (could we get our money back?)
c) he wants to be here.

I still feel there’s a player there if he can get 100% fit (big ask I know). He’s not had a proper preseason here yet

You're right, 18 months at the club, full time training (When fit) but held back by never having a proper preseason.

Next August he'll be the new Messi.
You’ve never liked him. Why? Just say it.

Anyone suggesting he wasn’t our best striker last season is off their rocker frankly. His performances against Arsenal, Man United (until he had to go off) and Burnley were unreal.

It still baffles me to fuck that people regard Mousset as our best striker. He had a period of 2 months (and he was struggling to play an hour during that period), where he scored a few goals and shit defences up.

Apart from that he's sulked, walked around the pitch offering sweet fa other than a can't be fucked attitude, can't even play for 45 mins.

To call him a professional is an insult to players like Ben Osborn.

He’s a waste of space now, but he was our best striker last season imho.

Mousset is a player that IF he applied himself could reach for the stars but, for some reason he has an attitude that says sod it I can't be arsed. He is what 24 and he cannot play for 90 minutes sorry but that is poor, he has all the glam that goes with a footballer money, car, but doesn't seem to want to make the effort.

I agree at his peak nobody touches him, but his peak performance was rare.

He was effective in about 5 games.
I’d say it was more than that, but it was enough to make him our best striker last season. Tallest dwarf, so to speak.

He's gonna look like a world beater in the championship against some of those defenders.........i'd put it in the hands of the medical team....do they think they can get him physically fit and in a condition to not keep breaking down.
If they have no confidence of him being able to sustain a full season physically, then we should try to move on as soon as possible.

I really like Moose; he's strong, fast and can put away chances. Very good striker on his day! However, his fitness levels are ridiculously poor. I can't think of many professional footballers look completely knackered within 20 mins after coming on in the 60th minute. His recent behaviour off the field is obviously also a concern. Personally if we can get the money we spent on him back then sell.
