How wank are we??

Sorry, I was referring to the various errors in that second half. Stevens did a Lunny where he lost the ball 2 or 3 times in quick succession and nearly gave them a chance. All because of complacency and laziness.
Watching Steven's play it looks like he hasnt got the 'legs'to play that role anymore. Osborn has the energy for the role and may be the option for us next season

Seriously, on a scale of 1 - 10, ten being total.......
Honestly never seen us like this before, were shocking.
So what is the solution ? A new manager for a fresh start?

I mean in general over the season, same old, short passages of play look decent, then we forget how to even play the game!?
Our defence has gone from second best in the league to flat worst, our keeper....Well, less said about him the better.
Strikers are more like misses, so many poor decisions, poor shots, and generally nowhere near good enough.
Thing with the Adkins era, we were league 1 with league 1 players, and he didn't have a clue, and we weren't doing well anyway, this season were following on from an almost brilliant season, and it's shocking how far we are from last season, with largely the same players, we should be doing better, the lack of fans is obviously the main reason, but poor recruitment, wild substitutions and ingrained tactics are finishing us off.

I admit we are far from how we looked from 2018-2019.

my hope is it’s mainly down to confidence. Get a few points on the board or wins and maybe we stop shitting the bed every game.

with a bit of confidence maybe the strikers bury a couple of chances and we go 3 or 4 nil up. Maybe then ramsdale doesn’t shit himself feeling like we just can’t score so he has to keep everything out or it’s game over.

I think the tactics box to box work, we just arn’t doing the basics we did for the last 4 seasons anymore.

We absolutely controlled the game. Then comes Individual errors again, and all the confidence on the ball gets sucked out of us.

Are you totally dismissing the first 70mins from your assessment?

Do you know, I've no issue with people slagging off Rammers for that goal. It was an awful effort. But to effectively absolve the others of any culpability with what can only be the motive of singling out a player with incredibly fragile confidence is unfair to say the very least.

Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc will all make mistakes and give the other teams a chance... If a Sunday league keeper could save the resulting shot but the professional keeper let's it go under him therein lies the problem... Is it that hard for you to understand!!?

It all went pear shaped when the captain went off, Billy should play more often and we would have more points he shouts and gives them a bollocking . Billy has done more in this game than (no good) and (Lumber) have done all season .

Wasn't that bad ffs. We dominated the vast majority of the match and then certain players became ridiculously lazy and slack in the last 20.

We've been worse this season.... and not mentioning that fucking horror show against Barnet a couple of seasons ago. That shot from Brewster goes to either side of their keeper and we win by more than 3.
Agreed, thought we dominated without really coming under that much pressure but we switched off at 2-0 and could’ve slipped up after a very professional performance

Thought Billy was so up for it, back to his bullying best, Brewsters best game and he looks desperate for a goal as well, perhaps tried too hard but he can be happy with his performance overall.

Ramsdale, though I want to like him, really just isnt reliable at the moment

But what happens if the same manager wont change the system and recruitment remains poor ? That is my concern

yes, good point - and equally, look back to the last time we got relegated....................Robson and our decline that followed after that.

CW has made mistakes, the club IMHO would make a far biger mistake by changing the manager.

He might keep 352 - but even now he's earned the right to have another go. Burnley, Hull and Norwich are recent examples of how it can work.

UTB

We played pretty well... Ramsdale in goal always gives the other side hope tho.. Hes had about 5 things to do in the game and made 3 mistakes
Plymouth's Young goalkeeper Cooper was much better. That's all I dont want to slate the lad but must do better . Utb

Did you watch a different game...we totally dominated had shit loads of shots and played some great passages of play..yes we were playing a league one side..but that performance (apart from the sloppy goal) was ‘professional“ performance, if your saying we should have scored more with the chances we had then yes, but the team looked committed and up for it...your just a moaning tossa ‘LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME.....’
I didn’t think a lot of players looked committed. Watch the match back and have a good look.
I’m afraid this match showed how bad we have become.
What a turnaround.

I don't know what you were hoping for. We're playing in the season from hell, confidence still very fragile and low and against a team withy nothng to lose. Apart from their goal which was bad it was largely decent, we were in total control until they scored. That was poor but they played with no fear and had nothing to lose.

Lots of positives and a win to give us some confidence.
I think it could have been much worse if Plymouth had real confidence and took the 2 missed chances.

Only Bash and Billy showed the slightest sign of caring. Plus Angry George, Didz and Burke when they came on. Fleck wants to care but he can’t remember why.

The problem we have is that most of them are thick, and don’t have a clue what to do when they have to think about it. That starting lot loses by at least 2 to Bristol City.

At this stage we have to stop trying to play football and pick the team with the biggest hearts.

Absolutely agree.

It's genuinely sad to watch what this team has become in terms of what Bassett termed, "attitude, commitment and character".

Just think back to the mentality and togetherness we had running through the squad in the gaffer's first 4 seasons. The big voices and the leaders in the dressing room who could be relied upon either as starters or even just squad players. As recently as the Chelsea match in a July, Lampard bemoaned the fact that the only voices on the pitch were United voices.

This season we have been quiet, timid, characterless, and fragile, from the off.

We know that Henderson is a loss given his incredible confidence and willingness to tell everyone how brilliant he is, and O'Connell is a big loss from the point of view of the calm but strong reassurance he gives to Egan, Stevens and Fleck. But the way that so many of these players have shrunk is incredible. The team just has no personality.

Basham, Baldock, Egan and Burke show the required heart. Billy, meanwhile, should be first name on the team sheet for the rest of this campaign and McBurnie has to come back in as soon as he is available. Whatever his other struggles, he runs his blood to water more often than not, and that can't be said of many of the others.

Really? Made perfect sense to me to protect legs and give George a chance to get some minutes under his belt.

Were either of the players who came in involved in the errors that resulted in their goal?
Bryan with a terrible clearance.

It's incredible how quickly this team can go from such a dominating performance and simple victory to a nervous wreck getting over the line with fans going from happy to slating them. Complete lack of composure but they keep doing this to us. Simple victory out there for us today and now all we can talk about is how crap some of our players are. They don't do themselves favours.

Cheltenham have caused more problems against Man City in 26 minutes than we will have done over 180 minutes this season.

Not wank, controlled the game, into the next round 🏆

Because that's what we need - winning games that don't do anything for our future.

It puts a few thousand in the coffers, but how much have we wasted this season? We ain't winning a cup once we come up with decent opposition so what is the point, we should have put out more youth and won - THEN I would have considered the victory something important.

Because of you put a competent Sunday league keeper in the net instead he saves the shot and we've got a comfortable 2 0 win... Were not hanging on
Yeah but the keepers mistake shouldn't cause the other 10 premier league players to lose all focus and drive . That's why we were hanging on

One word Ramsdale

we were hanging on because it was 2 1 rather than 2 0... At 2 0 we try and score again rather than having to hold the ball in the corner etc
