That penalty decision was utterly extraordinary and utterly inexplicable.

There is something very wrong with the game in this VAR era.

Whats incredible is the call was “green zone” meaning VAR didn’t think it had hit his arm. In the league that would have taken 5 minutes of slow motion replays and a Ref being told to look at the TV.

Ramsdale' muddled thinking was summed up by what he did on 44 minutes.

He received a headed back-pass from Fleck and signalled to the outfield players to 'calm it down' - presumably with an eye on it being almost half-time. He then suddenly, reached down for the ball and rolled it out straight down the middle of the pitch (which keepers shouldn't really do) to Norwood who was 25 yards from our goal with 2 Plymouth players bearing down on him.

Daft in any circumstances, let alone when the outfield players might reasonably be expecting Ramsdale to hold on to the ball, after he's just given every indication of trying to take the sting out of it. Norwood just about managed to knock it back to him. He couldn't have done anything else with it, having 2 players on him. Totally unnecessary risk.

Unfortunately, it looks like his mind is completely scrambled.
