I'm thinking a low "avoid relegation" total this season. 38 points maybe....so 34 points from 2nd half of season...win 9 draw 7. Possible????

38? No way Newcastle Burnley and Brighton will All be lucky if they get 34 or 35. Chances are one will end around 32

9 wins yea There are only 8 games left put off 20 we have a chance at. Think 6 more might do it. Even we nick a surprise win or even two it's unlikely

I think we get 3 W 5D and 12L improved on first half but nothing outstanding

Yeah, better off wondering where the parachute payments are best spent than whether it's possible to get out of this mire.

It may become inevitable however, never say die, we fought to get here, players, fans, management, we should all scrap to the end. No surrender.

Over the last four seasons 35 points would have seen a team avoid relegation (I couldn’t be bothered to look further back than that). I was quite surprised by that but it shows that 38 would actually be a high ‘avoid relegation’ total.

We’re down imo but I think considering our start to the season, not coming bottom would be an achievement and a good confidence boost for the lads. If we put up a decent fight I would bet on us getting promoted back up straight away, hopefully with Brewster, Bogle, McBurnie, Ramsdale etc all really finding their feet in our system. We’re just unlucky this season that all the other wank teams seem to be picking up lucky points every other week

I firmly believe we’ll get more points than Newcastle for example in the 2nd half of the season but they’re already 14 points ahead with a game in hand

Survival is possible.
But you're deluding yourself if you believe the Newcastle performance was evidence of a side looking likely to stop up.
Brighton and West Brom looked a lot better, and were against better opposition.

Will there be any parachute payments ?
It was a possibility in the original big plan and with tv money on the wain and a levelling up within the Championship we might not get any or very little

Best get some as our ground appears to be collateral against a very large loan that needs paying.

The saddest part is that I think this season could be a real low total to avoid relegation.

Today's results have put a dampener on any rekindled positivity.

The reality is that after the next few games we could be looking at close to two points a game to definitely stay up and there is no logical case whatsoever to make for that sadly.

It doesn't seem the same as 1990-91
We were crap in a lot of games then as well, but in some games we were really good, it's just that absolutely nothing was going for us. There was a feeling that all we had to do was get a couple of results and we'd be on our way. Plus we had 42 games, a bit more time to put things right.

This season has a relegation feel all over it, and following on from the end of last season I half expected it, the team had completely lost it's mojo, the unique style that everybody loved and even laughed at in a good way because it was so bonkers was completely gone.

The miracle of 1990-91 would be well and truly put in the shade if we can get out of this, but I'm not expecting anything, especially after todays results, our players watching that unfold before their eyes would have sunk even lower than where they were, and I'm expecting Spurs to roll over us without breaking too much sweat.
A scrap to get to 25-28 points and make things look half respectable will have to do this season I'm afraid

We played well the other night.

Just 15 games too late.

We are down.

Can I ask what makes people say it will be a low total needed to avoid relegation this season?
