of course I care
football is suffering from forcing a sub standard product on us
professional football is about the fans , its what seperates it from the regional sunday league in concord park
Name me any game youve seen this season thats grabbed your attention for 90 minutes

every game is a flat poor excuse devoid of entertainment
40 50 60000 empty seat stadiums are offering up training sessions with VAR and its just not watchable

This argument wasn't put on here last season when Europe was potentially on the cards.

I don't have a problem with fans having their own agenda, that's football.
But to pretend their decision is based on other reasons, is wrong.

There's really little need of justification for sport to continue at the min.

There are two separate questions:

1. Should the season be stopped prematurely due to covid?
2. What should happen if the season is prematurely stopped?

Regardless of views on question 1, it is surely legitimate to discuss question 2 without calling it an agenda - particularly as none of us have any influence on the decisions. What we would like to see happen, what is fair and what we deserve may well be three different things.

For what it's worth, my answer to question 2 would be "Apply the PL rules (void unless 2/3 fixtures complete)". Would I like this - Yes. Is it fair - Arguably (it's the rules everyone agreed to). Would we deserve it - Absolutely not!

totally different , was less than 10 games left and there was time to re arrange 8 9 games over 4 or 5 week , and a three quarters complete season would have been alright to take as a fair reflection of the season, Was reasonable to accept that as representative
theres 21 games and all the fa cup and european games to re allocate would need 10 weeks minimum and its impossible to argue any position is final

you could argue we deserve to go down as it stands but the other 19 positions are nowhere near done and dusted
they cant say liverpool are champions or the current top 4 go in the champions league , theres nothing between them
so if they cant decide on 19 places they cant say we will relegate sufc can they

The hospital I work at is projecting the peak of this wave will be around January 16th. They already have 50% more cases than at the highest point last year, so if the season isn’t suspended in the next week or two (imho at the moment it probably should be) I wouldn’t expect it will be stopped after that.

Why ? Keeping football on is far more important for the countries menkle elf

There's really no need for a delay to the PL season, let alone a cancellation.
The FA Cup and European games would be cancelled before any decision would even take place over the domestic season.

Fortunately the PL is in a position which is far better than last season, with regards to testing and all the procedures surrounding Covid.
So thankfully the right thing will be done, and the season will be completed without any hassle.

There already has been some “hassle” games have been postponed, clubs have played with depleted squads, however I agree with you that the season will be completed.

The odd PL game here are there being postponed to be played at a later date is really no hassle at all.
Especially with no fans involved etc.

The hassle has only just begun s the swiftly moving infection spreads . The new strain is far more virilanf than the original.
Aston Villa had to play the juniors

Aston Villa chose to play the juniors - they were adamant they didn`t want the FA Cup game being called off.

On that basis they should have no issue with doing the same in the PL - I fully expect that they will and they will be allowed to get away with effectively claiming that they had enough Professionals to not call off the FA Cup game, whilst at the same time have not enough professionals to play their next PL game.

Man C have also had a number of games called off due to not having enough players (ha!) - the same Man C whose players were in Dubai and holding Xmas parties.

At the moment it seems there is no deterrent to cubs whose players run roughshod over the COVID regulations. There need to be multi game (5+) bans for players found to be in breach and a 5-10 point deduction for clubs per breach - THAT would soon focus the minds...

The NHS is close to being overwhelmed, thousands of people are dying and businesses are closing down left, right and centre.

It’s madness that football is carrying on. The league should be ended and declared null and void.

Start a fresh next season when everyone has had the vaccine and fans are allowed back in the stadiums. It’s the fairest and most sensible solution to the current situation.

Rearranging games is fine but in the case of fulham v tottenham rearranging it 2 days before is not right & not normal.

The new strain spreading more quickly surely means it will simply all be over quicker right.

Can anybody name me a Premier League footballer who has been hospitalised by Covid?

There is little enough to look forward to... take away the anticipation and eventual despair of the Blades games and I’ll go crazy with boredom. The Shoutbox would grow dusty.

Not being argumentative but I’m not sure that is the point. They can be spreaders without even showing symptoms. As young healthy and fit younger people they are less like to suffer badly although Saint Maximin seems to be suffering

PL Footballers should not be in contact with anyone in the vulnerable categories.

If they stick to the rules, the virus doesn't spread.

There will be times during the game that there are 16+ players in the box, stopping celebrations isn't going to do anything.

They will be enforcing 2 metre social distancing whilst building a wall to defends free kicks next.

Before the restart there was analysis of 500 matches looking at how often players are actually in very close contact to each other. The results showed very little actual close contact during normal play. If you start adding in non-essential contact like hugging after a goal or at the end of the game then close contact, and therefore risk increases. Makes absolute sense to avoid all unnecessary contact doesn’t it?

Yes they can be spreaders without being symptomatic - hence the twice weekly covid test, regardless of symptoms!

What about if one of them has formed a support bubble with their parents? Perhaps for childcare duties or as a career?

It’s best not to take the chance, the season should be stopped now and declared null and void.

Not one person can give a legitimate reason why this should happen.

Every reason given so far can also be solved by a delay, but of course, that doesn't solve the bigger problem of relegation.
