Lundstram today

Didn't see one thing about him yesterday that told me he didn't want to be here. The best midfielder we've got atm.
Sadly this is true. Lunny had two shots on target and looked to have covered the most ground. I don't know the details of his wage demands but if he is wanting parity with fleck and Norwood, that would seem more than reasonable.

Yesterday was real banana skin game for us, Lose and hell would have broken loose and ther knives really would have been twisted into CWAK, we win but it's only L2 opposition.
We could easily have folded at 2-2 esp after some of the form we have seen in some games in the PL, we didn't, so a praise for the lads, they showed a bit of fight and character. Lets hope that continues on Tuesday.

The other one...

McGoldrick is more in the Duffy mould. Clever player, great technical ability, good in tight spaces etc.

I’m talking more in the sense of flair players with pace. We don’t have any.

Fleck drove forward from his own half and played the perfect through ball for Burke to score. How was L better than him ?
That’s what he did on the regular last season and it’s what he needs to start to do again he needs to find his mojo.

Lunstram struggled in the Chamoiomship whilst playing for us however he’s proved as recently as 1 year ago that he CAN perform well at PL level.
Also the massive factor regards Lundstram is he will be a free agent.

Agreed, he did struggle in the Championship in what was a 4 in midfield as Duffy played a no:10. Lunny was nothing more than average to poor in a 4 in the few times we saw him. When asked initially to take over in centre mid when Coutts got injured our form deteriorated rapidly - hence the experiment in bringing in Lee Evans to solve the centre mid problem which proved slightly better but still never solved the problem.

He excelled in the first 4 months of the PL as he played in a flat 5 - there is for me a massive difference. If we had signed Berge at the beginning of that 1st PL season, we may never have seen Lunny play except for sub appearances.

Few clubs in the PL play with a flat 5.

Personally I think if Lunny signs for a PL club and is expected to be a 40Kplayer and produce decent performances in a 4 man midfield then the buying club and fans are going to be extremely disappointed.

If Rangers get him he might look Ok in a division that is no where as good as our Championship, bar 2 teams with the rest little more than L1 standard.

Good luck to him - he'll get loads more pelters from other clubs fans if he doesn't end up at Rangers.

You asked who was the last player who can take players on. McGoldrick can do that.

He did no worse than anyone else on the pitch today really but of course he gets another thread started about him after every game, regardless of the result.
Your right......to the Ryan Leonard thread to discuss this further!!
