Manager Suggestion after Wilder Walks

If Wilder does walk. Though tbh I can’t see it happening. I’d like to see us go for an up and coming manager from the continent. Someone like Stefan Leitl or perhaps someone that Van Winkel is keeping an eye on. Someone who would bring fresh ideas, attractive football and opens up the foreign transfer market.
It’s all well and good surviving every year like Burnley and Newcastle but it’s god awful to watch week in week out. Ultimately you want to do the next ‘Leicester’ and really challenge playing good football. You want to be the team that brings the next Mahrez or Kante in.
well know its supposed to be the holy grail getting to the premier league but if weve got to play football like were playing just to try and survive its not for me if we get back we have to be on a financial footing to compete at this level still think weve a good enough squad though to challenge for the top 6 next season so i would at least give chris a chance to build another side playing attractive football

This is that sensible guy in full Mr Gilbert mode and this isnt a one off , Ive seen him like this in the Rising Sun. If this patronising narcissistic cunt came anywhere near our club ,that would see me watching non league instead.

That is poor isn't it? Bullying and not really surprising. Is he one of the Rising Sun wankers then?

What did the reporter ask by the way

It makes me laugh how people keep suggesting managers for the Blades who have, either previously been relegated or sacked by premier league clubs, or never achieved a promotion from the championship. CW has taken our club from the bowels of mediocrity to the premier division in such a short time surely he deserves every Blades support to see if this one bad season is just a fluke. In my view he gets whilst Christmas next year to prove his undoubted quality.

Nigel Pearson brought in Kante and Mahrez by the way Coastsy!

I'm not saying let's go for Pearson either, I want Wilder to stay.

I think Pearson would just see our club as merely another job and probably couldn't care less about getting the sack from us if we went on a bad run, especially as he's a legend over at the Sty and all the other clubs similar in size to us he's managed I don't think he'd care a jot really.

I do think he was harshly sacked by Watford towards the end of last season (after that I knew there and then they were going to go down and so they did) and by Leicester (in hindsight they won the PL title the following season) but at the time, surviving like they did so late in the season was magnificent.

Did he really?
I’d love our club to have that sort of endeavour in the transfer market. It’s not just Leicester either of course. Look at Southampton with Mane and Van Dijk

Yes he did, fairly sure he bought Vardy also. Vardy was touted by agent to United and Wednesday when at Fleetwood, but we baulked at the £1m transfer fee, which was a lot for a non-league striker at 22/25 as he was then.

not sure about 6 years but 6 months definetly hes done it once and our squad will definetly be good enough for a top 6 spot in the championship and despite all the negativity about him i think rian brewster will be a revelation for us next season in the championship
Rhian brewster will be a revelation as soon as we create chances for him in the box, and he stops having run around and drop to midfield to get a touch. It's like watching sharp the second time he was here, we arnt playing to his strength

Pearson the only contender for me despite his history. A proper man manager, from the Wilder mould, who has genuine tactical nouse.

apart from being a big wednesday fan so as likely as Chris Wilder or Neil Warnock managing wednesday

Julian Nagelsmann
if he was unemployed maybe, but he 2nd in bundesliga. 2pts off the top & in the last 16 of the champions league

Im sure Warnock has touting himself for the Wednesday job for more than one occasion. We had Wilson as manager and Megson was interviewed several times and made the shortlist before Warnock was appointed. It’s a fickle world, previous allegiances are soon forgotten if you’ve been out of work for a few months and somebody waves a lucrative contract in front of your face.

Fair enough.
But since that guy with all the tuna at the sty has taken over there they have gone from strength to strength and are moving up the table like a shoal of really, really fast fish.
Maybe he could give us some pointers?

Sean Dyche & Eddie Howe were the 2 I thought would be best placed to take it on if Wilder were to ever walk. The former being more preferable.

However, only one is out of work so that answers itself.

Have we become so conditioned by McCabe that we can’t contemplate a manager who isn’t out of work? I know Dyche wouldn’t fancy us right now but he might not like the new regime at Burnley and might feel that he could take us further than he took Burnley. I’m not sure he’d be a popular choice at many PL clubs as their supporters may think they can do better so, under certain circumstances, Dyche might be prepared to swap us for Burnley. Not immediately but if CW does quit later in the season, because our form hasn’t improved and he doesn’t think he can turn it around, we should certainly be making enquiries with Dyche. And considering other managers currently in work.

I've said this before and was mocked, I'll say it again - Van Winckle until the end of the season
then go for John Terry he will have learned a lot from Dean Smith at Villa - only a suggestion - tin hat firmly on!!

Say if Dyche was without a club (again only if CW left), I don't know if he'd want to come to us with only two points on the board and subsequently a guaranteed relegation on his CV?

Even if it wasn't to be during this season, I might be wrong but after all the sheer graft and hardship he's endured at Burnley over the past 8 years I think if he were ever to leave Turf Moor he might just hold out for a club in a slightly better position instead of fancying another Burnley profile (a hard-up medium sized northern club where it's constantly an utter struggle to establish and then try to remain established in the PL).

With his track record with Burnely I reckon he may prefer to hold out for a slightly better off bottom half club where don't get me wrong could still find himself in relegation fights but without the constraints he'd find with us and what has been ever present during his tenure at Burnley.

I don't want to be part of the John Terry experiment. I don't think it suits our predicament. We're in free fall, it will need someone with a lot of competence and somebody whom the players have instant confidence in.

If there was a dressing room bust up there would only be one winner 😁

The highest league he'll have managed in and his biggest club but Paul Cook would be my choice if another manager is required.

He knows the club, the area and a number of staff very well.
