Manager Suggestion after Wilder Walks

Pearson the only contender for me despite his history. A proper man manager, from the Wilder mould, who has genuine tactical nouse.

A year ago our management duo were being praised for just that. They were being praised for their new ideas, the style we played and the intensity we played at.

Just because we don't have the staff to do that anymore doesn't mean that the ideas are dead, or that CWAK have 'lost it' in any sense.

Valérien Ismaël, current Barnsley manager (thanks to: Google Chrome image search)
Like all decent Barnsley managers, he'll be "ex-Barnsley manager Valérien Ismaël" in about 6 months time.

I hope our manager in 6 months time is Chris Wilder. In fact I hope our manager in 6 years time is Chris Wilder

not sure about 6 years but 6 months definetly hes done it once and our squad will definetly be good enough for a top 6 spot in the championship and despite all the negativity about him i think rian brewster will be a revelation for us next season in the championship

As I understand it, he lives in Sheffield and would not consider managing here.
Sensible guy as well as a proper manager.
This is that sensible guy in full Mr Gilbert mode and this isnt a one off , Ive seen him like this in the Rising Sun. If this patronising narcissistic cunt came anywhere near our club ,that would see me watching non league instead.

Long term, I'm convinced CW is undoubtedly the best option. I do however have concerns how much damage this season is doing to him (and some of the players esp. Brewster) and whether he'll at some point in the next few months feel he's unable to continue - I suspect that is likely to be the case.

He appears to be increasingly desperate to find a magic formula in his team selections and substitutions in order to get that elusive win but through that desperation he now seems to be making some frankly odd decisions. The thought that a central midfield of Ampadu and Osborne would be good enough against any other Prem side is quite frankly naive at best and worrying at worst. The fact that he repeated that selection last night is mystifying. He also seems to be moving away from the tried & trusted 3-5-2 with a flat 3 in midfield. I think almost everyone sees the benefit of using McGoldrick as a #10 in order to link play and increase the attacking threat but pushing him wide right totally negated the threat and made the side look totally disjointed.

He has overseen some of the best ever years of being a Blade. I just worry that achieving so much success so quickly and the inability to sustain it may ultimately be his downfall.

Oh, dear! I’ve never seen him in that mode.
In that case, as he will never be our manager, we can breathe a sigh of relief.

i think chris is very very close to resigning and may well do it if we lose at palace hope im wrong because i want him to stay and build a team to challenge for promotion next season

If Wilder does walk. Though tbh I can’t see it happening. I’d like to see us go for an up and coming manager from the continent. Someone like Stefan Leitl or perhaps someone that Van Winkel is keeping an eye on. Someone who would bring fresh ideas, attractive football and opens up the foreign transfer market.
It’s all well and good surviving every year like Burnley and Newcastle but it’s god awful to watch week in week out. Ultimately you want to do the next ‘Leicester’ and really challenge playing good football. You want to be the team that brings the next Mahrez or Kante in.
