There’s a lot of talk about finishing being instinctive or a natural finisher. It ain’t, it’s just technique and/or playing the percentages. Basically it can be, and is regularly, coached and learnt so that practice becomes permanent. If Burke could finish he'd be a bigger, younger Vardy... but he can't.
He's only 23 though (which is crazy) and he hasn't played up front for long, so there is huge room for improvement.
No idea with Brewster to be honest. He shows some moments of class but where does he fit? He's not enough of anything at the moment to demand a start.
Natural finishing is something your born with ,people without it can get better with coaching and confidence ,but some just have itThere’s a lot of talk about finishing being instinctive or a natural finisher. If Burke is willing to work on it with the coaching staff it can improve significantly but it takes time effort and ultimately to see it on the pitch, confidence.
Didn't realise people came out of the womb in a footy kit and smash their first goal in before they can walkNatural finishing is something your born with ,people without it can get better with coaching and confidence ,but some just have it
Simply not true, it’s just a lazy cliche. How can you be born with an ability to know where the keeper isn’t? It’s all technique which increases your chances. Some take the ball early before the keeper sets, some it’s incredible power with a short back lift, it’s all technique and years of confidence means the player believes and trusts in it.Natural finishing is something your born with ,people without it can get better with coaching and confidence ,but some just have it
How are some born with the ability to paint ,or have great minds ,some have God given talents others don't .and popping that ball in the onion bag is one of themSimply not true, it’s just a lazy cliche. Others, like McBurnie do none of the above.Simply not true, it’s just a lazy cliche. How can you be born with an ability to know where the keeper isn’t? I don't know but most have already smashed there first vagina so it's possible.Didn't realise people came out of the womb in a footy kit and smash their first goal in before they can walk![]()
I bet you love Michael Owens match insightsHow are some born with the ability to paint ,or have great minds ,some have God given talents others don't .and popping that ball in the onion bag is one of them
Perhaps he has a bad back again. It would explain both the huddle and the substitutionDuring the pre-match huddle at Brighton, Fleck remained stood up and seemed not to take part. Wilder seemed to have noticed it and Fleck was substituted early in the game. It could of course have been completely innocent and his substitution could have been coincidental.
Gary playerThe more I practise the luckier I get
Good opportunity for him tonight, hope he doesn't do his usual invisible man actWith Wilder playing McGoldrick in No 10 role and Brewster upfront along Burke tonight again Everton. Brewster should score his first GOAL for the Blades tonight and could it be the winner
I am not sure you can remember, he scored on his debut & looked a star from minute one.I remember us signing Tony Currie, it took a while before we found his best position. In the meantime we'd been relegated from the top flight.
What's the opposite of finished article?Yes he was quality from the start, but like Brewster now he was nowhere near the finished article.
RubbishWhat's the opposite of finished article?
There was a shot as he walked round the touch line after he’d been subbed - he did indeed look like a little boy lost. I almost felt sorry for him, but then I thought about how much he’s paid and how little effort he seems to display. Destined to go down as one of our worst ever signings I fear.
Bit more expensive, but yes, it’s the lowest of low bars at the moment.Worse than McBurnie and Ramsdale?
