I've been saying it for a long time and I'll say it again now.....totally over rated! They perform well above their potential because they have reasonable players and generous backing from their owner. Every single time I have seen them I have seen a side marginally better than us but playing with more confidence.

The idea that they are this great football team that can pass you off the park is an utter myth and there were times in that game when I couldn't tell the difference between the two sides. That doesnt say much for Donny as United were utter dog shit.....much like the rest of the division.

Sorry but disagree.

What about our penalty first half when Cresswell (?) was dragged down from behind?
Their penalty was also bullshit.

We weren't great, but we should have won that,

I'm with Foxy. They're a decent outfit, fair play. But their fans have morphed into the most arrogant set of tossers in the region. There's one hyper inflated bubble I'm gong to enjoy see popping.

They were time wasters only because of the sending off, we would have done the same if we were 2-0 up away in a derby.

We may have had more shots, i guarantee they had more possesion and they had 10 men for what, 25 mins?

They play nice football, have a high reliance on the RB (o'connor) - i like sides that play with possession, dont panic and keep it tight when they dont have it - donny are a good side and will get more points than us this season, we were lucky today - dont be fooled.

'Us' ? Yeah right.

Amen to that brother.

Prior to the game I was genuinely shitting myself about playing these, having heard everything in the media about their pretty pretty football, turned out it was pretty pretty average.

First half - both teams were poor, looked as though they should be in the dogfight with us. They were spouting about us not having a shot on target, but I can only remember the header early on from them.

Second half - we were slightly better but nobody stood out tbh. Not sure how people can say Willo looked better than the rest what with us missing the midfield out in most of our attempts to claw back the deficit. Can't comment on the red card (was too busy mopping up my bovril thanks to them shite lids they're now giving us). As for the penalty, didn't surprise me, thought both Kozzy and Perrino looked out of their depth at times and a clumsy challenge isn't too out of character. Will give boy wonder credit where it's due for a cracking finish and for that I salute you Kozzlarrrrr.

Ched appeared to be at the centre of most of our threats and it appears Bartley's been playing with Nos for too long - he was solely to blame for putting Kozzy in that position to give away the penalty.

Despite what I see as two points dropped I genuinely enjoyed it today, was great to see our Blades back playing with a bit more fight and passion. Credit to every single Unitedite there and let's hope more improvement is to come - with the addition of 2 or 3 in the coming weeks. Micky done good today but it's still going to be a long hard fight but I genuinely believe we can do this.

Oh, and it was sweet sweet justice that we scored so late - Sullivan you're a disgrace - you're supposed to be a seasoned professional. Hope that legs hurting now. Twat.

I'm astounded that O' Driscoll and now a couple of their fans have got the cheek to moan about our throw in being from the wrong place. We spent most of the match moaning at the ref and linesman for allowing them to steal 15 yards and then foul throw whilst policing the vast majority of ours and ensuring they were taken from the blade of grass they went out over.

Don't forget the surface is poorer than it looks too! ;)

Don't forget that the Donny player kicked the ball away after it had gone out and didn't get booked. We only took the throwing from where the ball had been kicked to. Good playing of advantage by the ref when he could have stopped play and booked the Donny tramp.

Doncaster Rovers = Not Brazil.

I was sat on the Westfield and found it funny that the Blades on the uper tier behind the goal were shouting 'hoof' everytime they hoofed it.

Definatly not Brazil.

Sean O'Driscoll is the most boring bastard I have ever heard speak.

Did he actully move in the technical area all match? Do they push a stick up his arse and leave him there for 90 mins?

Every time I've seen Donny they've left me with the same impression - they're a One-Trick-Pony. They might be good at doing what they do best - but if you stop them doing it (or they do it to themselves by losing a man) they don't have a confident Plan B.

And similar to Norwich, they seem to be a "nice" club that's losing it's cuddly feel. The wingeing from SOD on P&G was pitiful. If that's a mark of the man and not just the frustration of the moment, then I'm glad he didn't come to us. Ryan should be having a quiet word about about bringing his club into disrepute for the petty things he banged on about.

Lastly - am I missing something? Wasn't there a nailed on penalty shout for handball in front of the Kop - the one where the whole Kop screamed for it, and Monty raged at both the linesman and the ref - about 5 mins before Billy dived for theirs (a trick he learned at us tbh - he's always done it).

Despite the fact that Cressy was down for 2 or 3 minutes in the 2nd half, added to the fact there were 6 substitutions and Sullivan rolling around on the floor like a jessy.

Oh and red card nothing challenges? First one was very dirty. I was only half watching for the second challenge admittedly so can't really comment.

Did anyone notice that the ref allowed him to roll around, didn't stop the game, he was down for nearly a minute but never let go of the ball, sure Boggy caught him, but if he was injured he should've chucked the ball out OR the ref should've stopped it. Instead he kept hold of the ball and the ref didn't give us a freekick under the 6 seconds rule!

Souza should've gone for the elbow on Yeates.
Sullivan played the time wasting trick like a pro.
Their subs were so tactical.
We'd have done the same no doubt, but justice was done.

You know what, they need to remember where they were a few years ago. I was actually at the 'funeral' they conducted through the streets of Donny, coffin and all, after everything that happened. Christ, I was asked to write a piece for one of their fanzines and did so, and if I remember correctly I riled on the evils of football finances. I also said that Doncaster Rovers would become a much more successful side than they were.

I did not predict that they would become an arrogant bunch of twats. Fuck em. As others have said, they're steadily rising up my most hated league.

I think that's the point - sure, we'd have done the same. It's only an issue because the little bitches were pissing and whining about the 7 mins added time.

I thought that Donny outplayed us (especially in first half) on Saturday and considering that they were without several first team players (including skipper Brian Stock) and had a player (of sorts) sent off midway through the second half, we cannot exactly congratulate ourselves on scraping a point with the last kick of the game. However, at least we showed some resolve and if Uncle Fester can get us playing with some heart and commitment we may have a chance of surviving the dreaded drop.....

Imagine the score line if toss pot Speed had still been here.

No closing down, no fight. Donny would have passed it about then instead of being restricted to hoofball.

My, my there are some sour grapes from some United fans in this thread. SOD quite rightly turns us down and suddenly he is a crap manager, boring, excuse makers and la de da. I wonder how many of those criticising Donny where the one's who were getting excited about SOD posssibly taking the rains. It's funny that in Highbury's (next manager) poll O'Driscoll won hands down, but now (after he rebuked us) he is the worst manager to set foot in Bramall Lane.

This thread is a perfectic attempt to cover up the fact that United have made a massive mistake. It just shows the bitterness that we are subjected to more hoofball and have missed the boat on changuing the ethos of the club. Nice work though Wards, Birch couldn't have done a better job.

As for Donny being an average team etc etc. They are traditionally a 3rd/4th tier team that are now the best team in South Yorks. In the last seasons they have come to the Lane and won (against a very good team I may add) and drawn twice. This is not to mention how quickly everyone has forgot the match at the Keepmoat earlier this season.

Let's get rid of this "Brave old Donny with all their injuries business". The same could be said of the Blades who were without Henderson and Morgan and had Williamson coming back from a long injury lay off.

They are not Brazil but are doing well because their chairman is funding decent lower league signings with an established manager producing a settled side.

Our chairman needs to do the same and with some signings and a settled side we could actually climb the table and finish around Donny in mid table...

Of course there are some sour grapes, we took the better looking bird on a date and ended realising she's out of our league, she wants a nice house, flash car and we're happy with our shed and driving the passat TDI... but thats not really the point.

Donny came yesterday thinking they were big time (when was the last time that they've brought a bigger away following to the lane than we took to their place). How dare they come with our reject striker and the manager that so many of us wished for, only to not get him (for whatever reason).

But... they whinged, they moaned, they got away with a lot. The ref was in no way a "homer", they pissed around once they got 0-2 up and it back fired when the 4th Official put up 7 mins. Tough shite boys. We all knew it was 7 mins, the board said so, it was clear, so theres nothing to moan about from their side, but they did.

Micky got the lads up for it and despite the shite that went against us (theres was a def pen though) we managed to pull ourselves out of it at the death.

Hoofball or not we fought back and got something out of it. No sour grapes from me

Somebody on the radio summed it up yesterday....

Donny - punching well above there weight
The 2 teams in sheffield - punching well below theres

Personaly i carnt wait till there bubble bursts and that muppet on praise or grumble that said donny are on equal terms as a club with united and we the fans should accept and respect that needs too wake up

TBF Donny don't even have a weight - let alone one that they are punching above. However, they have outplayed us in recent meetings and come away with the results. Both Sheffield clubs have fallen on difficult times and although each of us have greater histories than little old Donny, it doesn't give us any God given right to lord over them. Not so many years ago the likes of Oldham, Bradford, Southampton, Charlton etc etc were 'big' clubs and in the top flight. I think that this mentality that we have been there before and are historically a member of the 'Big' club league undermines any manager that takes over - in reality we are a struggling Championship Club.

Getting more points than us does not mean they are a good side or that they play nice football.

I can only go on what I've seen of them, and at Bramall Lane last season they were very, very poor. And the season before they were nothing more than decent.

At present, getting more points than us merely means they are better than a very weak team.

I thought that Donny were out of sorts yesterday. I have seen them quite a few times in the past few years and they play some excellent football. That said, their fans are really becoming stuck up their own arses. The certainly didn't play us off the park like they suggest. Coppinger apart they were average and a draw was a fair result. I don't think that there was too much 'hoofball' from us either. Of course at 2 nil down with minutes left we are going to launch the ball into the box, this makes sense!
As for O'driscoll - I wanted him to become our manager but by christ what a dour sounding monotone cunt he is!

I thought that Donny outplayed us (especially in first half) on Saturday QUOTE]

Donny didn't out play us look at possession stats, 48% to there 52%, we also had 17 chances to there 9, that says alot to me we were far from out played, and as for us being more physical like some reports are suggesting, we committed 3 more fouls, they got away with at least 4-5 similar fouls that we kept getting pulled for and then 3 handballs. Donny played the classic away tactic, waste time when you can, kick and harry and try to annoy the home side. They were incredibly mardy for a team throwing themselves into challenges at times, they gave as good as they got. But the football they displayed was far revolutionary Donny I'd heard about, at times there were a few good moves, they made a few good cutting balls but up until Donny's goals we coped very well with their supposed Brazilianesque football.
We also strung together the odd passing move ourselves. In the end it was a scrappy game in the first half, but much more entertaining in the second half, both teams mixed it up but, apart from our defense falling asleep and a dubious penalty decision, (sorry swiss just watched it again, a) outside box, fell into box, b) Kozzy and him ran in the same direction it was a collision, no leg or arms put out for foul. Just a very spectular player shot from the stands.) Two very decent goals to get us back in it.
