Not quite the Barca-esque mauling we were promised by the Donny fans

Don't be daft, haven't you heard them on praise or grumble?

I used to like Donny, I'm fast coming to hate them, they just talk big-headed utter, utter bullshit about their "total football".

id put the dingles in front of the donny lot, they are getting a wee bit big headed.

>I'm fast coming to hate them
what .. cos they're better than us these days??.. heh.. nice little donny.. pat on head doesn't apply anymore does it?.. they're a decent outfit.. credit where it's due i say

Not at all, because of the absolute bullshit they spout and their big headed attitude in the last couple of seasons.

Seriously, have you listened to them?

Souza didn't deserve a card at all apparently, never mind two yellows and they apparently played us off the park with some great football.

Also, the ref cheated them by adding any time on.

heh.. calm down mate.. we've all just got back.. aah.. you've been listening to praise and grumble haven't you??.. thought both of souza's challenges were nowt challenges tbh.. but then again their pen was bollocks so it evens out i suppose.

Despite the fact that Cressy was down for 2 or 3 minutes in the 2nd half, added to the fact there were 6 substitutions and Sullivan rolling around on the floor like a jessy.

Oh and red card nothing challenges? First one was very dirty. I was only half watching for the second challenge admittedly so can't really comment.

they've nowt to come over the added time.. the point i was trying to make is that we have to take them seriously these days

Donny mixed up their game quite well I thought. The red was standard stuff, but Sullivan was an embarrassment.

I'm calm :)

Just giving you my reasons for disliking them these days.

Souza could have easily gone much earlier than he did for a number of blatent taking out of blades players after the ball had gone.

fair play.. perhaps he went for repeat offending.. i hadn't thought of that actually

We had 17 shots on (11) and off (6) target. They had 9. Nuff said.

anyways foxy.. seeing as you're here.. where's my woodward avatar?? :D
come on.. you know it makes sense :D

Absolutely. Not seen time wasting as bad as that for ages. No evidence of their Arsenal-like football either. Our defending was shocking - again - but we definitely deserved the draw and it was fitting we scored it in the added time that their time wasting created.

I didn't go today. But I did go last season and wasn't impressed with them at all that day. They looked very poor and even though they scored first and eventually hung on for a 1-1 draw, we were by far the better side. I saw no total football from them that day and felt they could easily go down. The arguments over how we played under Blackwell are well documented on this forum, but I have to say (although never a fan of the way we approached games under his management), we were desperately unlucky not to win that game. We dominated from start to finish and out passed them in every area of the pitch.

I was also there the year before to witness their first ever league win at Bramall Lane. And whilst they were a neat and tidy side, there was nothing outstanding about them. We were just awful that evening, and were going through a poor run of home form. It was around that time that we lost at home to Wednesday for the first time in 40 years, with one of the worst home derby performances in half a century.

My son was at the game and has phoned me on the way back. He felt we should have won, and was very annoyed at Sharp. His take on the second goal is that he dived for the penalty and that the crowd reacted to that. Will watch television highlights with interest!

I think it says a lot that this marvellous Doncaster Rovers team, at the height of their football and investment and superb manager, can't beat one of the worst United teams we've seen at the Lane in years - particularly after being 2-0 up.

Doncaster Rovers = Not Brazil.

Sorry Donny fans, but United are currently shit, and yet you let a 2-0 advantage slip.

And what's all this shit about too much added time anyway? It's added on for both teams. We didn't get a few extra minutes to see if we could equalise when you were off the pitch. Sure, we can try and score in the extra time, but you can try and stop us you know. If you had a keeper whose hips didn't click out of joint every time he stood up there might not have been as much allowed time, and if your chap hadn't flattened Cresswell then he wouldn't have needed four minutes treatment. Did you see the physio, doctor and stretcher bearers?

Also if Sean O'Driscoll is the tactical genuis he's made out to be then surely he'd have been able to put a side out that could beat a shit Sheffield United? Evidently not.

Little Doncaster? Perhaps not. As high as they'll ever get? Probably.

Both sides awful in first half, they improved more than us in 2nd but we fucking stuck it to 'em!!!!

I'm astounded that O' Driscoll and now a couple of their fans have got the cheek to moan about our throw in being from the wrong place.

We spent most of the match moaning at the ref and linesman for allowing them to steal 15 yards and then foul throw whilst policing the vast majority of ours and ensuring they were taken from the blade of grass they went out over.

Don't forget the surface is poorer than it looks too! ;)

There's me thinking we were playing on the same one.

We must have given Donny the horrible rutted pitch to play on while we played our seven minutes added time on our own and on our lovely, lush green carpet.

Agree re 1st half but completely disagree re 2nd. We gifted them two goals but dominated most of the 2nd as the attempts on goal stats prove.

Warnock used to get slaughtered for making half the excuses that boring bastard made today. Its a myth this magical football they play perpetuated in the media by their manager (sorry chairman) Ryan. As for saying Kozluk should have been sent off for the penalty incident ,he's just embarrassed himself.

I couldn't get over the blatant time wasting throughout their team. And then they wondered where all the extra time had come from. Laughable.

It was the same when Burnley came to t'lane in october. Blatant timewasting at 2-0 up. Both reaped what they sowed.

if sheffield is a shithole what does that make doncaster ? as for SoD saying no to us, is,nt that the second big club he has turned down ????:p

They were time wasters only because of the sending off, we would have done the same if we were 2-0 up away in a derby.

We may have had more shots, i guarantee they had more possesion and they had 10 men for what, 25 mins?

They play nice football, have a high reliance on the RB (o'connor) - i like sides that play with possession, dont panic and keep it tight when they dont have it - donny are a good side and will get more points than us this season, we were lucky today - dont be fooled.
