My money's on our Neil taking Hendo of our hands

Chance of that happening probably ended when he signed Hulse, will be surprised if he brings anyone in to be honest - he's already said as much In terms of not wantin to upset the squad (having possibly learnt from the Ade/Horse signings).

If our 1st signing is to be the Vale keeper, it begs the question of why we extended Wright's contract while we were in managerial limbo.

Well lets hope his promotion record from division two isn't needed. :)

This questions will be put to Birch by certain members of BIFF. (email them from here to make sure although there is no need I know a few who are already chomping on the bit).

In the meantime lets at least see what happens between now and the summer, you never know we might be wrong and the board might know more than us.

It's hard to imagine that they don't if you consider the shit they've been feeding us over the last few years. It's almost as if they're having a competition between themselves to see who can push the fans completely over the edge. The only reasonable alternative is that none of them has a fucking clue. Again, if this turns out to be true, I for one am not going to put myself in the same position again. Until something approximating the truth comes out of the Lane, I'm through.

Adams first job will be to put the search for nice passy football on hold. Find out who's in the trenches with him, give them a shirt and f*ck the rest off. Its time to be nasty.

If we do that we have enough to stay up. He can then have a clear out to start from scratch in the summer.

Absolutely on the money - maybe when we're safe we can start knocking it about. Right now it's about the giving the oppo nothing and picking up points - we can start the fancy attractive stuff if we get a run going.

As the process has drawn on and we've become more and more charitable and festive on the pitch I've come round to Adams a lot more. A bit of bite and a dose of honesty for those who were resting on a healthy weekly wedge is what we need. I'll worry about style once we've got the basics back in place and aren't staring relegation in the face.

Adams and Cork? FFS. A new ethos, Mr Birch? If this is true then you can stick a fork in me and turn me over. I'm done.

Ok then bye... don't forget to write

I want both. Passion and passy football. It can be done. I'll settle for just the passion when we're losing though.

He will get my support ass every new manager does. At the minute though, I will be basing everything on results. I would rather eat my own ass hairs than go to league one.

If the worst happens, shall I pass the salt?

How about if we "Tippy tap" it about when it's appropriate and "Hoof it" when it's necessary?
This "no-grey-areas" argument on the style of football and "changing the whole ethos of the club" is a futile, red-herring IMHO.

All I want is for us to start the game with attacking, creative players and look to outscore rather than contain the opposition.
I want to go to Bramall Lane in the expectation of seeing an exciting game of football (rather than it being just a forlorn hope).
I want Bramall Lane to be a rowdy fortress, feared by the opposition and admired by the netural.
I want the fans to relate to the players and vice-versa because they are OUR players not just strangers passing through.
I want each player to have his own individiual chant and to acknowledge the crowd when he hears it.
I want massive celebrations when a goal goes in because OUR boys have done it and WE helped them.

Those things have gradually gone missing since the day Robson was appointed.
I can't be alone in wanting them back and it wouldn't take a miracle to see them return.
How many times the players pass the ball is a seperate and largely secondary discussion.

Cork is only one promotion as a manager behind o'driscoll.

Spot on - I can't remembering celebrating too many passing moves but I can remember jumping around like a madman after many, many goals and roaring along with everyone else when our players are putting in everything.

If I remember correctly, The Vale keeper who had a blinder at the lane is an Ex-Junior Blade -yet another Unitedite

Excitement and goalmouth action under Bassett and Warnock.
'Proper football' ,boring dross under Robson and Speed.

Which one do you prefer ?

Lets not think everything under Bassett and Warnock was some sort of magical fun ride with excitement cranked up to 10 for the full tenure, it wasn't - there were equal amounts of boring shit football played under both.

I get what you're saying but both styles have their merits and their downfalls.

There is a certain amount of rubbish played whoever the manager is. Even Manchester United are boring sometimes.

But Bassett and Warnock consistently delivered more exciting football at Bramall Lane than we've seen since for the vast majority of the last 35 years.

Let get behide Micky Adams and the the team lets hope we stay up this season.

post of the year sothall.. only a day left as well.. well timed..
robson wasn't passing football.. neither was speed.. hello?? warnocks best team played proper football (white shorts team).. lets clarify this.. i think we all agree on this.. we simply don't want to see aimless punts downfield and playing not to lose.. how about that for our 'new' footballing ethos??

Here here Sitwell.

As long as i get a buzz close to that of my first match, under Bassett at home to Wolves, and close to as bigger buzz as i did in that Play-Off game against Forest, that'll do me.

Winning games is all we want, if you want more than that, you're supporting the wrong team.

By the way, big up to the mods for hastily adding Corky to the header. 'Nuff 'spec, innit?

He's been there since just after dinner :D

It's only Corky's beard that is legendary not the player - he certainly doesn't deserve to be there for football reasons, longevity of service or any sort of real achievement (unless you count our only goal at Wembley in living memory - which I don't).

Where's Woody? - He certainly should be there - the only possible addition IMHO

Happy with the new management appointment and with Corky as AM - All we need now is Bobby Booker the big tall Fooker and we have a full set.
We cannot aspire to be where Arse or City are but we can look to emulate Stoke or Blackpool - two clubs that have done the business despite all the obstacles and derision from the purists and two clubs we can be better than, surely.
