Another punch in the stomach in this shit show of a season.

We are literally unable to pick up even a solitary point. At the rate we are going we might end the season with 4 points. Anyone reckon it would be worth going down with less than the 11 points derby got?

A badge of dishonour as it were? Something to savour for the worst ever attempt to stay up? Would that be better than say limping to 20 points? Or is it literally too embarrassing for all concerned.

I would lean too embarrassing but I honest think it’s going to be a challenge to get to double figures

I don't see why we'd want such an embarrassing stat. It's bad enough having 1 point from 11 games.

I know you always get a few self styled bigger Blades who like to wear failure as a badge of honour but I can't for the life of me see why we'd want such a pathetic record to our name.

I see a team playing not far off good enough and I think we are about to go on a run. Just need a bit of self belief and Wilder needs to come out positive and kicking the players up the arse.

In 3 years time, 5 and 10 and plus, this season will be remembered as the season that Sheffield United were so close in almost all games, and so unfortunate. And technically it was boyhood pig fan Vardy which relegated Sheffield due them going down by 1 point. Why Vardy? Because no later game time goal at BDBL takes away that point, and more importantly the hope, you saw the faces.....

The truth being.... It won't be remembered for the above.

I thought the players did come out with positively, and they looked like CW had told them to get at-um! for about 15 minutes we looked ok but we all knew that the class of Leicester (and most other Prem teams) would come to the four! The problem is that we are not good enough and the players CW brought in for 100 million quid have not been good enough. I think CW has felt obliged to play his new expensive players in front of some good players already at the club from last season just to justify the money he spent? But it has only made team worse and more fragmented. I also see teams like Villa and Sham have improved greatly!

There's a massive difference between us and Derby. By this time on the season they may have picked up more points that us but they also lost : 6-1, 5-0 (twice), 5-1 and 4-0. They were getting hammered and clearly nowhere near good enough. They conceded 4 or more 10 times that year, and still weren't scoring that many.
By contrast we're competing in almost every single game. We will start picking up points, games are too tight not too.
I'm still saying circa 25 points.

I've also had a look a the Derby County 2007-08 page. 19 of their 29 defeats were by more than one goal - 70% compared to our current rate of 20%. I know a defeat is a defeat and you still get the same number of points for a defeat no matter how many goals you lose by, but we are nowhere near their level of incompetence... yet.

I didn't know that Jay McEverley played for them that season! and scored two goals. Does explain the Most Goals Conceded in a 38 Game Season medal in Jay's trophy cabinet.

When ever a side has a bad start to the season, do I want people comparing them to us season after season as being the bench mark for awful starts to the season?
