Hoofball

The football played there was absolutely horrific to watch. We can talk all day about McBurnie putting himself about and winning headers, which he did, but that's just highlighting a massive problem as far as I'm concerned.

That was as bad as anything Blackwell served up and it wasn't a one off.

Kamikazi football we win the ball then proceed to hand it straight back
Fleck trying to trap a ball with his knee with 2 Leicester players closing on him

Cross after cross opportunity .not getting past the nearest defender and below waist height

truly pathetic today

Completely devoid of confidence to move forward

The lack of quality in our midfield is astonishing. The lack of pace throughout the team is obviously. The lack of movement off the ball is down to poor coaching.

All those things are exacerbated by booting the ball over every body's head.

Movement and quality in midfield are two characteristics that I know exist in this squad, because I saw it for four years. It's inexplicable why we've reverted to this style of play.

At least stoke were effective with it. We are so aimless with it. Ours is through lack of quality and no composure.

Weve spent 100 million on loads of duffers. Oliver Burke in the prem - I genuinely think i have a better touch than him. Lowe and byran shouldnt be near the first team of a prem team let alone in the starting 11. Burkes reminds me of matt done on steriods, just a big fucker that runs quick, absolutely embarrassing that we’ve assembled a squad like this. Unfortunately we cant seem to change our tinpot mentality when it comes to players. ‘They dont run enough’ or ‘not a wilder type player’, this is what you get when you opt for players who run a lot over any technical ability. Shite. We are as good as down and if im being honest even if we come back up the squad needs totally reassembling to make room for some technical ability.

Relegation nailed on.

We have no rhythm or confidence. When the opposition is closing us down well, we struggle to find a teammate. Lundstram tried holding on to the ball a couple of times at the start, and on both occasions gave the ball away dangerously. When this is the case it is pretty much the only solution to go longer.

This is where Wilder is 100% culpable. We seem so ill prepared for any kind of press and it’s blatantly obviously we don’t practice keeping the ball in pressure situations. No body shows for the ball, we don’t work angles or show any kind of intelligence in possession, because clearly plan A is knock it long and chase.

I can take defeat. I can take 'bad luck'. I can take a last-minute winner from that ugly, greasy, pig-wanker with all his winding-up. I can accept relegation from the Prem because our players aren't as good as Leicester, Liverpool, etc.

But to take all of that whilst playing this disgusting, shit, long-ball crap, getting possession and then just giving it straight back to the opposition, AND losing week-in, week-out is just humiliating.

If we are going down, and let's face it, we deserve to as we are THE worst team in the division, playing THE worst football, at least let's go down with some fucking pride, trying to play proper football.

'Proper football'......remember that, Chris? What has happened to our Manager?

Exactly how I feel. I’m embarrassed by our football. At least when Blackwell had us scraping snow off the ball we didn’t have the eyes of millions on us. And he set the team up to hoof it. We’re actually worse, we’re the first hoof ball team that actually can’t do it very well.

Even Blackwell was effective with it, albeit in the Championship.

Wilder appears to have been reading from the Neil Warnock handbook of managing in the Premier League. At least Colin had players who would put their bollocks on the line for him.

Too much has been said about strikers. Yet again our midfield has offered next to nothing. Berge looks good occasionally on the ball, but as a defensive midfielder he does none of the dirty work. Strolls out to close down, doesnt win tackles, track his man etc. Fleck has stopped driving forward and just goes wide to the wing back even when their is a ball into the forward on. Lundstram makes alot of mistakes but at least he's willing to have the ball.

At least he doesn’t press the panic button when he’s pressed.

I actually can't believe what I am seeing, given how good we have been in midfield since CW became manager. Such a mistake to not strengthen in this area over the summer and kick us on further.

The way we're playing this season is poor at the side of last season.
The general believe is we can't play like that without JOC.
Surely to Christ there must be someone in the club or out there that could have been brought in or stepped up.
The more money we have spent, the worse we have played.

I’m starting to think the “if I had money I’d be dangerous“ comment wasn‘t sarcasm. unfortunately.

Our two best attacks in the first half came from fleck and Berge running out of defence for 40 yards.
I would not mind the hoof all if it worked occasionally, but although mcburnie won lots of headers, Leicester often had 2 or 3 defenders to mop up.

What frustrates me a lot this season and I can’t believe it’s not mentioned as much is the crossing it’s either high and slow which is predictable and easy to defend or can’t beat first man and then when we do a good cross it seems opposition have about 7 men in box it’s decision making in final 3rd that’s costing us goals and poor crossing in them key areas I think
