Baldock & Norwood are finished

I still hope Ampadu will make the defensive midfield role his own. Norwood looks finished. He wins and stops very little and it makes things difficult for the rest of the team. WBA were determined not to let him have time on the ball as well, which made him ineffective in spite of his technical ability.

It feels like we need an enforcer in midfield, a winner to add some guts and determination.

Baldock is our new McGoldrick....it's soo frustrating. Gives his all, but that final product is beyond brutal. We can't stay in the PL with players that have no final touch. Love him, but I agree we need to upgrade.

Baldock is good enough and we need him , but that miss was breathtaking , miss of the season , we should start a thread for miss of the season it would be fucking massive !

Disagree on Baldock.

Norwood has been poor indeed, but what about Lowe? Rammers? Even Fleck has been poor.
McBurnie looks totally lost.

Our team just isn't good enough.
Right from the first few minutes when fleck bottled a chance to ‘have a go‘ with a free kick and instead he just floated it aimlessly,he looked a shadow of his former self,he has to test the keeper from there,if he hits the target there’s a chance of a rebound and a tap in.

Norwood was 1/3 of a terrible midfield tonight.

We improved a lot when we went to a 3-4-3.

Norwood is excellent when teams allow us to have the ball further up the pitch. When they put pressure on him and force us back then it’s like playing with 10 men. He isn’t good enough defensively too much of the time. The game against Fulham showed why they were happy to let Norwood go when they had Cairney instead.

Baldock is excellent until he gets to the oppositions box. If we could take Kieron Freeman’s attacking capabilities and give them to Baldock we’d have a very valuable player on our hands. Having said that though, he certainly isn’t finished. It’s a ridiculous suggestion to think that.

Baldock is a quality player.

Norwood is fine for a squad player but shouldn't be a regular starter imo. Hides too many times or is ineffectual.

I like both lads but Baldock definately stays in the team, Norwood should only be back up now.

Baldock is one of our best and most consistent players.
His end product was poor today but he still didn't have a terrible game.

His character and drive is unmatched, if we lose or drop him we lose our currently diminishing style and energy.

Baldock is our most saleable asset if we go down ,apart from his poor finishing he had a good game ... Agree on Norwood but Baldock played decent
Baldocks a decent championship player at best. On tonight's performance not so sure on that.

Wilder has to fix the left side problem .Teams just double up on the right side to stop us ,as we have such a weak left side which offers little threat.

Baldock was shit tonight. I say that as one of his greatest fans.

McBurnie’s not good enough to play as our mainstay striker. So many of the opportunities he gets I genuinely think I would put in.

I’m nearly 59.
Baldock was our best outfield player. This is madness.

Norwoods ping has fucked off big time

Bogle needs a crack now - Bladock has had enough of them

I think Norwoood has gone backwards. Perhaps he know that Berge was ideally signed for exactly the role he plays so perhaps he realises his time is numbered. Perhaps that is why Lundstrum wants away too. He had his nose pushed when berge came in. Baldock is playing well but just wish he had Kieron Freeman's ability to cross the ball. I also feel that Lowe was not bought for this dogfight but more for season 21/22. The same with Bogle. The injuries to JOC, Fleck and Mousset have been a real blow and obviously Wilder is not sold on Jack Robinson who is a decent defender but not mobile enough for the pattern we have. McBurnie must wonder where his next goal will come from. Last week he hit the bar when he should have scored really and his effort towards the end tonight is the kind of chance we just can't miss as was the one Mousset missed.

This is exactly the problem we didn't upgrade on anything during the transfer window we just filled the squad with players who aren't good enough. Wilder is shocking with money there is no denying it.

Agree, Ampadu hopefully slots into midfield to replace Norwood who sadly looked shot. Whether Ampadu is capable of being an enforcer, I don't know, but it was way too easy for WBA to pass through the centre of the park in straight lines and bypass Norwood. Add to that the distinct lack of ping these days and I really don't see that he offers anything positive presently.

Perhaps rather than an enforcer, an extra midfielder and playing a diamond might be the way? I don't see Bryan being a regular starter, and Robinson has played himself out of favour, so perhaps we go four at the back with Ampadu the cover man if the full backs advance and a link between midfield and forwards, likely Didzy?

I honestly think Baldock has probably been our best player this season. I would've said Berge, but he's not been at his best the last two games.

His end product might have been questionable, but everything else has been spot on. In a list of positions I'm worried about RWB is probably 10th or 11th on my list.

Really should've scored yesterday, but he's a defender and is the one player who's always moving and showing for the ball.

Baldock is like a virgin who's watched a load of porn, knows all the right positions, but doesn't have a clue what to do when he gets there himself.

In this system, the wing backs getting in the box and shooting sometimes is absolutely part of their job, him being a defender isn't really a valid excuse. Decent crossing from the right wing is also vital, but most of the time it's just hit and hope from him so there's definite room for improvement from him.

Having an expensive new toy sitting unused in its box doesn't help, but Baldock always upped his game after losing his spot to Freeman for a few games. It'd be harsh on him as he's far from the worst player, but Kean Bryan put in as many quality crosses as Baldock yesterday, his end product simply isn't good enough.

Baldock missed 2 match changing chances. Another one against West Ham. His final ball is appalling. He even tried to lob the ball over sam Johnstone from 6 yards out. It’s not good enough

Baldock is fine until he sees the goal, but that covers 90% of the squad at the moment.

Norwood is off the pace of the game at the moment. Much harder to get it back for him now.

Baldock is a good player.

However, we can’t score - and given we can no longer keep a clean sheet nothing is going to change. We aren’t going to pick up any points they way we are playing.

We have to try something else. And unless bogle is another of our recruiting mistakes and garbage. It’s incredibly harsh in him he’s not even seeing the bench. Must regret ever signing for us.
