How long has he got left?

Some of the £130m was spent on players last summer who helped us finished 9th last season.

How does that make our side worse thay the team that came up?

Wilder stays for me.
changing the formation. I'm in management. You should never get new recruits to immediately perform a task that is outside their comfort zone. It undermines them, makes them resentful and most importantly results in a loss of confidence in their abilities. They have to be allowed to bed in first.
We've signed all these players and they're playing out of position or being asked to be JoC. We should have learned from Coutts that you can't get new players in and expect them to be somebody else.

Who then ? If you sack somebody you need a better replacement
Is this replacement going to save us from relegation ?
If he doesnt is he going to be the manager to take us straight back up ?

If we get relegated I know who would be the best man to take us back up that is Wilder
Burnley stuck with Dyche
Sacking managers isnt always the best way forward ,we had 4 when we got relegated to L1 see how well that worked out and surely Wilder has enough credit in the bank to have a chance to continue managing us

I would agree with all those points if we were putting up a fight this season. I can take relegation, but there is a difference between a relegation after putting up a fight and potentially being the worst team in top flight history.

I don’t know who we could get, but if someone isn’t performing in their job there comes a point where we need a change. Wilder’s last 13 matches are worse than David Weir’s 13 matches in charge. It’s just got too bad to carry on.

I’ll be consistent with this. Always count on that 😉.

I want him in the job. Be it in Europe or the Championship. In fact, I’m not that bothered either way.

However, he’s making a right Rick of things atm and at the end of the day, no one on this forum will decide or seal his fate.

My advice would be to take a blank piece of paper and condition your mind to forget everything you think you know. Truly clean slate so to say. Start again. Back to basics. Build from there.

Its well within his compass. Well within.

FWIW my view is this. You won't like it. As long as we aren't below mid table division one (where he took over) then Wilder has been a success and you have to stick with him no matter what happens. So we go down with one point. So what?? We weren't supposed to be here anyway
He's got a bit muddled up lately and some of his substitutions are a bit bonkers but i'd have to stick by the guy. Whether the Prince thinks the same though i can't say.

I wouldn't walk either... We score our chances it's a different game, we don't have the rub of the green..

We just fucking don't.. Don't kick the golden goose out the fucking door cause oli mcburnie will not score..

Then stop picking Oliver fucking McUseless. He is shit for us, and shit for Scotland. the 2020's Chris Guthrie.

Should be loaned out to Airdrie or somebody to learn how to score goals.

Said it loads of times even if Wilder went I doubt knowone high profiled would replace him due to wages demand and current league position/squad so as bad as it gets currently I’d stick with him because it’s his squad and I still think he’s got more to offer with the club after this season today’s defeat was down to poor finishing more than anything it’s tough at minute but it is what it is gotta keep supporting in my view

What about the 100 or so games Wilder has managed us before this last 13 does this count for nothing ?
Nonsensical comparing him with Weir
As Ive said if you are going to sack someone make sure his replacement is better than the outgoing manager
Ive already mentioned the 4 x managres we had in one season, I raise you Brian Robson

Why aren’t we supposed to be here and clubs like Southampton, Leicester, Palace and Brighton can have long spells in the Premier League?

We shouldn’t be happy to accept second best so easily.

I said that on another thread (near enough) all other cities majority smaller ones seem to be more advanced than Sheffield

Because we're Sheffield United. The League hate us. Always have even from the early 60's when they put the pigs in the Fairs cup when it should have been us. Why? i have no idea. We shouldn't be happy to give up so easily.

If this happened last season we wouldn’t even be talking about Wilder getting sacked, we would be worried he would leave. Norwich never considered getting rid of Farke and they’re right on track for promotion this season.

However Norwich spent bugger all money last season, and were playing for this exact scenario, whereas we've spent a King's ransom. We'll be very hard pressed to assemble a promotion side next season once we've sold everything that isn't nailed down to keep the club afloat.

Now you're into politics. If you put a dinner lady in charge of a major urban conurbation then you're in trouble.

I’m just saying this run is worse than under Weir, I’m comparing bad runs not comparing managers.

I’m not going to suggest a manager because it’s pointless, you’ll just tell me how bad my suggestion is.

You sound convinced we're going down. We wont' go down. We're only two wins off 17th. That's three days.

We don't need a new manager. We need to hang tough and not panic.

i mean in football terms

We've just lost to the worse team in the league.. and you think we'll get a result the next two games? Loool.
we are the worst team in the league. did we play our second eleven? yeah i think we'll get a result in the next two games. this club is weird :D

The only silver lining is that chances were created

Another day and they'll go in but nothing is going for us at the moment

But, how much of that was because we just fancied our chances tonight.

The problem is we'll revert back to type when we come up against a decent side.

We're getting to the point now where a good point against Man Utd, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool etc won't be good enough.

I turned the channel over on 67 minutes

A ball went in the WBA box and the goalie fluffed it, fell over, feigned injury and got a free kick.

That was it for me
WBA had that ref in their pocket all game

But we’ve missed sitters in the last three games - all by the same goon he keeps playing - why? It’s no use saying it’ll come. It won’t, McBurnie is not up to it, I’d rather see Billy out there.
You’re pushing an open door there CB. I agree, he can’t even shoot properly, whenever he has time he strikes it with his instep, just like tonight. He’s just uncoordinated, he doesn’t possess Billy Sharps eye for a ball. BS very rarely does any other, than strike the ball cleanly. Thankfully I think Brewster possesses the same natural ability and I’m optimistic about him.

I just don’t understand what anyone ever saw in McBurnie or does now 🤷🏻‍♂️

I kind of disagree, the players we have signed are players able to fit in our formation.

For example Bogle and Lowe as wing backs and Burke/Brewster as different options up front.

I think the only player that has been asked to play out of position is Stevens and tbh nobody can replace JOC, even if we sign another CB in January.

You sound convinced we're going down. We wont' go down. We're only two wins off 17th. That's three days.

I am convinced. Who are these two wins going to come against? We've played all three promoted sides, plus a bunch of sides we took four points off last season (Wolves, Villa, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham) and come away with a solitary point. We've regressed alarmingly.

Look at it this way. Last season, we finished 20 points above relegation. That seems like an almost insurmountable gap, doesn't it? Yet if we compare last season to this:

Wolves - H - Last season Won - This season lost - minus 3 points
Aston Villa - A - Last season Drew - This season lost - minus 1 point
Leeds (replacing Bournemouth) - H - Last season won -This season Lost - minus 3 points
Arsenal - A - Last Season Drew - This season lost - minus 1 point
Fulham (replacing Norwich) - H - Last season won - this season drew - minus 2 points
Liverpool - A - Last season Lost - This season Lost - no change
Manchester City - H - Last season Lost - This season Lost - no change
Chelsea - A - Last season drew - This season Lost - minus 1 point
West Ham - H - Last Season Won - This Season Lost - Minus 3 points
West Brom (replacing Watford) - A - Last Season Drew - This Season Lost - minus 1 point

So by my quick back-of-a-fag-packet maths, we're down an incredible 15 points on the equivalent fixtures last season. We've got a worse result, where possible (i.e. not including the games we lost last season) in every single game so far.
