Crowds allowed into grounds in October..

All that dickhead Johnson had to do was pick up the phone and ask the New Zealand prime minister which trace and track they used, but no, he thought it better to divvy out backhandears of £12bn to his cronies. At this rate we’ll never get in the Lane again!
Please don't use a country with the population on a par with locking the gates at Old Trafford with 3,000 in the ground as an example. Agree with everything else

The issue is, we aren't at least back in a lower percentage because of the incompetence of the government. Lots of similar countries to us have fans back.

When they need a polling boost, fans will go back
France have just postponed their cup, so I don’t see other mid to south European countries doing that much better than us.

I can't view the Star article, this is in the Telegraph. Reduced capacity crowds for early January maybe? If the first match with crowds is the FA Cup 3rd round we may even get our usual crowd!

Tier 3 areas unlikely to get any fans back in...or tier 2.

So maybe Reading, Swindon and Plymouth will be having a few thousand in 😂

I’m not going back till we are all allowed back in as normal. I can’t be arsed with watered down crowds with millions of rules and regs.

to be honest I’ve stopped watching behind closed doors football and other sport and sadly the longer this goes on I’m less likely to return.
I’ve been exactly the same, the fake crowd noise was pissing me off as it gives a false sense of excitement.

There is no getting away from it, until normal crowds are allowed back, its pretty pointless.

I think we’ve all tolerated this lockdown and the restrictions for long enough.

Yeah be interesting as likes of Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester, Manchester, Birmingham, London all likely to be tier 3 and doubt returning to Tier 1 anytime soon.

So Bournemouth may get a few hundred in!

Not sure any of us will be back this season at the Lane.

I think the proposals are just to placate football fans, so they can say "we have considered it seriously but it`s not practical or fair to most areas of the country due to the tier system". Slightly off tangent, I have thought every Tory government have tried to eliminate every "working class" pursuit for years, high tax on cigs and beer, no smoking indoors (leading to thousands of pubs closing) and now no football.

yeah as much as people want to be back, it would be an anti climax because at the moment it would be same as a 1st round fa cup game & is going to be anti climax

Would certain clubs complain? Let’s say Chelsea were allowed x amount of fans back because they are in tier 1/2 but Liverpool aren’t because they are in tier 3. Liverpool lose at Chelsea and then claim it is at an unfair advantage as certain teams are allowed a home support. Used Liverpool as an example as we all know it would be either them or City that complain.

No way they are going to let fans in while ever Sheffield is in tier 3. Imagine the scene as 20000 rabid pigs make their way down Penistone Road as they leave the sty at half time every other week .

Wouldn't it be an unfair advantage to allow some teams to play in front of crowds and not others?

Really?

Extract "To date, since 2010, government has scrapped the beer duty escalator, making the price of a typical pint 14p cheaper than it otherwise would have been"

That’ll be the smokefree legislation banning smoking in indoor public spaces on public health grounds enacted in 2006 by a Labour Government in Scotland, 2007 in England by a Labour Government, in Wales by a Labour Government, and in Northern Ireland by a cross-party government. But other than that, spot-on.

And correctly so, I can't think of another law passed in my adult life that has improved all of our lives so directly and positively.

After months of appearing tone deaf to football fans, at least there's some movement. Can't argue with it being based on local infection rates really. Even if it doesn't mean I can travel to watch us in December, at least I might be able to watch some live football with some mates. That'd be a massive bonus. Longer-term it bodes well that they're listening too. Fingers crossed the good news keeps coming.

Everyone wants crowds back in but another piece of incompetence by the government and the football authorities, so Southampton will be allowed to have fans in , but United not , this will break the equality of the game . Fans can not be allowed by in depending on their location this will bring inequality

Even with a vaccine we will be looking at reduced capacity / socially distanced events for the next few years. 20k at Glastonbury instead of the usual 200k. 5k per day in at the Wimbledon Championships instead of the usual 50k Per day. Footbll will have to follow similar guidelines Can see the first big football event being the FA cup final in front of 20k in May.

All of these are of course summer events, in the winter we will still face tougher restrictions for a few Years to come. It’s baby steps for a long time yet I am afraid.

So if Sheffield drops to tier 1 and has hardly any cases, while London’s rates rocket, you’d be happy not being able to go to football because it would upset the Spurs fans?
