Personally I completely agree. However, it's not like we haven't seen a foreign owner without the same sentiments as fans get rid of a well liked manager before.

Adkins (shudder) was loved by Southampton fans. Most neutrals couldn't believe it when he was replaced by an unheard of manager in England called Mauricio Pochettino. Look how well that turned out btw.

We just have to hope that our foreign owner doesn't do the same. In fairness to the Prince, everything he has done so far has been positive. Let's hope that continues.

So you use the example of Southampton sacking their manager and it turning out to be a great decision for them (7 seasons in the Premier League and counting, reached a cup final and played in Europe), then go on to say you hope our foreign owners doesn't do that? 🤔

6 years ago this week we played Orient in the league. Is there really any need for the question never mind a fucking poll.

Doesn't make me feel any better about getting battered by Chelsea to be honest.

Let's not make the same mistake as with Warnock.

Moving someone out is the easy bit.

Look at the projection of Neil's career compared to ours. 2 promotions to the top flight. 2 or 3 stints there. Never a worry of relegation from the Championship.

Contrast that with our own. A failed play off under Blacky, a relegation, 6 years in League one.

Same here. 5 years it will be this year. 2 promotions, not even bothering with the playoffs, one very solid consolidation in the Championship, one superb effort at the top table, 1 possible relegation after an injury ravaged season and with some pretty poor officiating impacting key games such as Villa, Leeds and Arsenal.

This is not the norm for us. This is a relative golden era. Even Dyche, for whom even now this season might be a relegation one, had to go down after promotion to come back stronger.

We have an identity. We have someone at the helm who cares and hurts as much as we do. Let's not be throwing this away through short-termism.

I was born in 1976. I've seen United play in the top flight for 7 seasons. Chris has delivered 2 of those. I'm not prepared to jump on any other bandwagon that sees him leave because the alternative is an awful downward spiral. We're not good at appointing managers. Occasionally we get lucky. This is one of those times. If anything Chris taking a bit of a knock this season might mean we can be tied together for longer. And for me at least, I'll raise a glass to that!

Post of the year, for me. Bra-bloody-vo. Well said, Champers. You know I always have a bit of a love in for your stuff!

Can I vote for,

E, Back Wilder and the team, stop fucking whining, were Blades, were in the prem, and Wilder got us here, he deserves the chance to sort it out!!

Or is that not an option??

That's f***ed United over, no fans in the ground, at the same time it's played right into the hands of the Premier primadonnas. No Henderson, JOC or Fleck, three big driving forces in the team, has had an effect too, as you'd expect.

In my eyes this isn't proper football we're getting at the moment with no fans in. If we go down, for me, Wilder stays all day long.

Great to see an overwhelming number of Blades are rational enough to recognise the extraordinary journey we've been on for the past 4 years is down to one man; our outstanding manager, Chris Wilder. I have to remind myself that social media is a bit like Sheaf Valley Baths (RIP) - most of the noise comes from the shallow end and the quieter majority tend to think more and spout less.

Last season was built on the rock-solid foundation of an excellent, well-drilled back three plus one of the best goalkeepers ever to grace the Bramall Lane turf. Half of that unit is absent this season and that's a huge issue to overcome. I don't accept recent signings made are poor. Berger took flak last season and is now touted as the second coming. I've no idea how good Brewster is yet because he's had precious little service in and around the penalty area. Ramsdale is a top drawer Premier League keeper having to deal with far more than Hendo, who had the aforementioned wall of steel in front of him. Without JOC, last season, we conceded 11 goals in 5 league games, winning just one of them (3-1 v Spurs). This season we've conceded 14 from 8 games, so slightly fewer per game. That's 2 less than Liverpool and the same as Man U who have played a game less and have Hendo and De Gea to choose from. So a bit of perspective is needed here.

Our big problem remains up top and with one of the least wealthy - relatively speaking - owners in the Premier League, we are simply not shopping in the same market as the likes of Villa. Wilder has accepted this and unless/until someone with far deeper pockets takes over, that's the way it is. In the meantime, does anybody seriously believe we are likely to find a better manager than the one we've got? If so, who is this person? Wilder remains our biggest asset by far and we lose sight of that at our peril.

Probably didn't articulate it as well as I should have. My boss was in the office near me 😂 The Southampton situation is an outlier if you look at the clubs that have done it. I don't think we should look at that as a framework, hoping the same will happen to us if we get rid of Wilder. It could happen, of course. But IMO it's very unlikely

Voted to stick with him whatever.

There really is nobody else better than him and Alan Knill for this club, I'd be happy to see him retire out of the front door into the car park to thousands of cheering fans in many years time.

I'm thinking the money that lunny wants has upset the dressing room but he can't afford to put him with the 23s as we're depleted through injuries, this is the first time we've had a disruptive player, kept close to the first team..playing etc..

Normally they're kept away, I think this has gone toxic with lunny cause wilder isn't being allowed to bin him out the way.

Maybe other players are looking at how things might be when thier contracts come up... We all knew this league was all about the money...

1. this poll is pointless
2. We have an out and out winner

Not sure ( not about the poll result I may add) I was wondering where all the pricks that were showing off over the weekend came from, seems they've got other things to discuss now monk got sacked. Funny how the anti wilder posts are gone isn't it.

The point of a fans forum is to see other fans opinions and respect them whilst voicing your own...

I had heard the predictable murmurs of discontent on the back of the disappointing start to the season and wanted to see if people shared my opinion or felt differently. It would appear you share the same as me...

That was why I asked “the question” and added the “fucking poll”.

Feel free to ignore the next time I post, I don’t do it often :)

“STOP THE VOTING NOW.”

PS If we do indeed go down, with Wilder we would piss the championship surely. 20 goal season for Brewster, Moose or Mcburnie and their value would skyrocket. However we would probably lose Baldock, Berge & Egan as a consequence of going down. JOC’s injury will keep him out of the shop window at least

In my humble opinion we went up too fast and were not really "ready for it"
The fact that Wilder / Knill had created a team that could play in the PL did not mean that they should do so.

If we do go down (not a really big If to be honest) its no big loss if we keep it all together!

Maybe cos I have some friends who are West Brom fans I see it as perfectly feasible to actually be a yo-yo club if its done right....
None of them ever seemed to complain too much (though the battle of Bramall Lane made me shut up a bit :D )

Interesting point, the club and fans can be as loyal as possible, but there is nothing to stop CW/AK deciding enough is enough, which has to be a strong possibility.

He's contracted until 2024 so unless he gets an offer from another club (if we get relegated that's less likely) I can't see them walking. It will also be expensive for other clubs to pay compensation to us, unless it's a top 6 club and then it's chicken feed.

I’m glad this thread was posted to push out all the ridiculous threads to get rid of him. Well done.

I am yet to see a multitude of posts saying that they want CW sacked. However, I have seen plenty questioning his recruitment policy, the way the team is playing, his persistence in seemingly playing safe, negative football and selecting players who are clearly not performing. As this is a forum, what's wrong with that ?

I’d say there is nothing wrong with it, hence the poll, it was to see that regardless of multiple perfectly reasonable questions being asked of the management... that in over 90% of the fans involved in the poles eyes, it is not enough to question their position.

I hope he sees this poll so he knows that most of us have got his back .. . ...
