Who are the 6 teams out of interest? Leeds, Villa and Fulham are all potential relegation battlers not European contenders, if they contend for Europe then it's an anomaly like us last season.

I agree, we've had a tough start, however there isn't such a thing as an easy run of fixtures so to have only picked up 1 point from 8 is a pretty big step towards relegation in my view.

I'd stick by CWAK whatever happens though.

Villa spent loads last season and we’re still shit. I can’t take them seriously as a top 8 team in the same way that I can Wolves, it might be the Dean Smith factor.

We could easily be 4 points better off from the Leeds and Fulham games like you say. It would make getting to 35-40 points seem more achievable.

Personally, I think it was right to get rid of Harry. He’d had a chance to get us back and we replaced him with a decent manager in Kendall. It was after Kendall left that things started to go tits up.

I’m not entirely sure what your point is. Bassett had the 94/5 season to get us up and didn’t. He then started the 95/6 season and there were no signs of improvement. If anything, we were worse. I think we were justified in getting rid. And I thought he was fantastic. But every manager has a shelf life and I think he’d reached the end of his with us. I think the turmoil at the club with Reg, Woolhouse, Hinchcliffe etc had worn him down. I think he needed a change of scenery.

I’m still amazed he stayed tbh, what a loyal man Bassett was, and loved the city. He admits that in retrospect he should have moved on earlier, as the club was a mess, the ground had three sides again and it was all a bit stale.

It was tough watching some games that first season down, as you just felt we’d never get back to the top again under him. We got beat 3-1 by notts county from memory and it felt like a pre season game.

In regards to the thread, that’s going to be the massive challenge for wilder. Getting him, the club, the players that stay and the fans motivated and positive quickly, to hit the ground running in the championship. But it seems the majority think he can do it, so fingers crossed.

I think the number of 'fans' who want Wilder to go is miniscule. I dont, I think he is great but.... you can see the defeatest speak coming through in his interviews. Instead of up and at em, it is now we shouldn't even be competing with these supermen teams 'Liverpool et al'. ugh? No what he needs to sort out and bloody fast is our total inability to score goals or at least a hell of a lot more than we have done to date. The boring up and down the byelines failing to get any telling crosses in. It has become a shitfest tbh and if he doesnt sort these out, well he does need to go.

The keypoint is when is this point reached? Is it this season so another manager might keep us in the league, or do we go down blind faithly expecting a return next season and then fast forwarding it to Christmas 2021 if we aren't near the top of the Chumpionshp do we get rid then?

All I can say by watching is that it looks pretty dire at the moment and highly depressing.

Last season we started v Bournemouth palace etc

We lost to 3 teams below 8th last season . That's our aim again as is any club not in the top 6

Just over four years ago we were staring at our worst league table finish in 33 years.

We had been in League 1 for six years.

Chris Wilder and Alan Knill came in and got us promoted at the first attempt, and if Paul Coutts hadn't suffered that horrific leg break, there is a chance we would have gone up again in successive seasons.

As it was, they did that the following season, and we came up in the automatic spots, with a chance of being promoted as Champions, which went to the final game.

Top 10 finish in our first season back in the Premier League.

We are having a tough time at the moment, no one can deny it, and we have had really bad luck in losing JOC, Fleck and Mousset all at the same time. Two of them will come back soon, but admittedly JOC is a huge loss for us.

With 30 odd games left, we have to believe that we can make it to 4th from bottom, and that's all we need to do this year.

If we all agree, that survival is all we need to do, then we don't need Allerdyce or anyone else, but we do need a change of system, to stop us leaking goals, and we need to find a way to score more.

And to all the pig fans who are on our forum, you have enough problems of your own.

At the moment you'd have to be a pig to find this stuff exciting. Frankly it is turgid and since CWAK are responsible for training/managing what is going on I suggest that

1. It isn't working
2. There is some evidence Wilder has lost the plot. His interview after Chelsea was crap, largely reinforcing that they were supermen and we were also rans. What a great confidence booster that was.
3. Since lockdown we have been garbage, utter shite that is what 15 games or something. Dunno, so depressing one loses track of counting.
