Wilder doesn’t agree with the knowledgeable people of “Wilders Army” and S24SU mcburnie fan club

If the two were flipped last night, do we reckon the opinions on Brewster and McBurnie would be the same?

I've seen some folk saying that 'it's clear from his first 30 minutes that Brewster's buy back clause will be activated', whilst McBurnie is getting pelters.

I'd guess that some prefer to use their existing opinions rather than base one on what they've just seen.

I would think most reckon McB had a decent game last night.

What all of us want to see is McB doing it next week and then the week after.

Consistency has to be McB's aim going forward and to form a partnership with Brewster.

The doubters will not go away until McB starts doing it week in, week out.

I think mcburnie has been consistently performing tho although he does need more goals

Look at the Chelsea/Spurs matches

He played well against Fulham just missed a good chance

He’ll never be a natural goalscorer unless there on a plate but he will lead the line

Bert gets the impression that McBurnie is the sort of player that needs a serious lecture just before kick off to tell him what he needs to do and a kick in the bollocks just to remind him.

Last night he was superb.

One thing. Jordan Henderson specifically name checks McBurnie after last nights game. An admission, from the captain of one of the best teams in Europe and current PL Champions, managed by one of the best managers of the era, that McBurnie is a threat. So, Chris Wilder, Alan Knill, Jurgen Klopp and Jordan Henderson all think McBurnie is a threat. I'll take their opinions, along with my own observations, over the weekly witch hunt and wilful ignorance seen here and all over Social Media. He's doing well, will continue to improve and should be considered integral to this United team and as such, should be supported. Not beyond criticism, but should be supported.

And on that note, he does need to put away his chances.

As a forward he needs to get better as finishing easy chances. The rest of play pales in insignificance if he can’t do that.

Billy when presented with a chance is currently a better finisher than Mcburnie, however due to his age and physical attributes ie height, and more importantly speed he has difficulty getting into the right positions which is precisely why Wilder favours Mcburnie.
Not only has a Mcburnie the prospect of getting better but his all round game and attributes mean that he is more likely to bring other players into the game, which is why I look forward to seeing him with Brewster.

But when all is said and done it is all about opinions, just a pity that they cannot be debated over a pint as opposed to behind a keyboard where people I am sure say things that they would not say in person.
So chill out accept people’s opinions and enjoy being a Blade, if life was easy it would be boring and rest assured that the deeper the troughs the higher the peaks. We have previously had 4 good seasons and expect a small blip.

I know McBurnie has taken some stick in recent weeks but I thought tonight's performance was as complete as you will see from an opposition striker at Anfield this season. He isn't in the team to score 30 goals he's in there to hold up the play, win headers and work hard and I thought he did all of that brilliantly. He was the reason we had more success out wide as he was keeping Gomez and Fabinho occupied in the middle winning headers, causing confusion and exposing both Liverpool full backs. Yes I'd love him to start scoring more but if he plays like that every week he will create so many opportunities for his strike partner which will hopefully be an in form Brewster or Moose. Plenty to be encouraged by tonight including Osborn at LWB and Berge as usual. Just dont look at the table! UTB

Brilliant post, chapeau mate 🎩

Apart from scoring again even when one on one with the keeper. Sorry he's not good enough.
I agree Bruce we bought a striker for 20 mill to score goals .that's his job and as against Fulham he missed chances yet again at Anfield.Don't get me wrong some of his work is to be admired .he is good defending corners and holding up play but you have to look at the goals scored tally and it is a sorry sight.Six games in and no goals to our main strikers name and not many last year either. We have lost our main stay in defence so it is most important that we improve our goal scoring which is not happening and he is the one who is missing those chances as was the case last year to.We were never going to pull the game back last night with McBurnie and Burke being our strikers .How many goals have they scored between them in the last 12 months?6. 7, 8, total for 2 prem strikers .Sorry not good enough.

Who would you sign who you think is good enough?
