No problem with him being pissed off at being dropped, and expressing it. You’d assume it demonstrates desire, determination, self belief.

Not sure about the pointing at himself though. That thing players do these days after scoring, where they run backwards at the crowd/camera, pointing at the name on the back of their shirt, always winds me up. “It’s all about me, me, me. Look at me, me, me”. Our players don’t do that. And you’d assume that those who do might not prosper under a Tufty regime. JL’s pointing at himself on Sunday, though, looked uncomfortably close to that.

Lunny has been absolutely fantastic for us this season. But he’s also been well below those standards at times, and arguably deserved his “rest” from the starting XI. In that context, publicly giving it the “me, me, me” maybe wasn’t the best look.

I think if there is any dressing room upset it will be lunny, after Sunday I get the impression him and sander are not going to get on too well. Think he is a bit jealous of our new guy

CW has said their are many on going discussions about new contracts why isn’t their a thread going into details and trying to pick negatives from them?

Contract negotiations take time now in the premier league they are all in life changing circumstances players more so than managers. A 4 year contract with a player means he’ll get the full 4 years managers get sacked and they are off.

If he’s not signed a new contract by the summer then CW will sell him. But I’m sure it will be sorted before then.

The one thing people miss when trying to read things into every move a player makes is the desire and commitment Lunny gave in his cameo role. All of our players who come on show that exact commitment to the group. There are no egos in our squad . To suggest othèwise is ludicrous. Its why we are doing well. l’m sure Wilder said (to paraphrase): “There’s the option to extend, which we will do, therefore, there’s no urgency. We concentrate on the League and all contracts will be discussed in the summer.“
Meaning Lunny isn’t refusing to talk, it’s just both parties have parked it until we finish the season.

Is anyone else a little concerned that this hasn't been settled yet? It's January now, which means that any team outside the English league system can approach him on a pre-contract deal. Now I doubt there would be many teams abroad interested, even though he'd have much to offer despite his slight downturn in form.

(Celtic and Rangers would be the exception possibly, as they could offer European football he could be tempted though it is unlikely)

Alternatively he could wonder if he let it run down he could get taken on by a club like Everton, Fulham (if they go up) with a huge signing on bonus on 60k a week which we can't/won't offer him here.

It's good to see that Besic has started to be integrated into the team in any event, do we have an option to buy from Everton? Would free up a loan space as well. How much would he cost? 4 million as a guess?

With Lundstram I do think it will be sorted out eventually, just a pity it's taken so long
