Good watch-answers some of the questions about recruiting non-english/Irish players.

Interesting to hear Mitchell talking about scouting in Europe and someone covering 11 games in Argentina.

It’s an area of weakness for us as a club, so I’m pleased to learn we are doing something about it. If we want to compete at the highest level we need to have a huge international scouting network. That’s what it takes.

I hope they’ve found the new Maradonna, or even a Sabella would do! Be nice to think we will attract some top (up and coming) foreign talent to add to the top home grown talent that Wilder and his staff have produced so far. They’ve done fantastic for us on a shoe-string budget. If the club can put, not just the budget, but the processes in place to do that then we will have a bright future.

I think it's important to emphasise 'the chemistry' (Ron Reid's words) that currently exists in the club at present. The recruitment process will take this into consideration as much as the skills of a particular player.

A new Maradonna or a Sabella may well have the footballing attributes most clubs would crave for but if they don't possess the work ethic ('players that run around') then it could upset the 'chemistry' that has stood us in good stead so far.

Great comments by Paul Mitchell regarding Chris Wilder - 'that we have someone very special here'. I think that's endorsed by the EFL managers awarding him the Manager of the Year. We really have to make the most of this opportunity.

He had a caravan at Ashford in the water too, near Bakewell. A weekend retreat. That’s where I met him last. I was selling pegs at the time.

I'm surprised Harry Monk never took off as a nickname for him.

Only one letter change. Maybe the art of cockney rhyming slang has just died out too much 😆

This was one my favourite Biggsy moments from after the league cup match against Wrexham the other year.

Sky had literally shown Rak-Sakyi and Cooper in the stands and said they’d signed, then Biggsy drops this exclusive 2 hours later and makes out that Wilder gave him a wink to let him in on a secret

Biggs is probably the last person Wilder tells anything to.
