The organisers of this super league will have a headache from day one. England has 6 so called big clubs, Germany 2, Spain has 3 at a push, Italy maybe another 3, Holland 1, Portugal 1 France 1. Every other European country haven’t even got teams any bigger than Newcastle, Everton, West Ham, Leeds etc etc.
So how do you make such a league a fair representation of European football?
I seriously doubt they want to make it a fair representation of European football.

I'm not sure that making it a fair representation of anything is part of their intentions.

It'll just be football by cunts, for cunts.

Can we fuck em off tomorra? I'm only surprised it has taken more than 25 years to come up with this idea. Let them go if that is what they want but don't let them back if it gets boring and falls on it's arse. Make them start again in the lower leagues like AFC Wimbledon had to when their club got stolen.

It might not come quick enough for us. But who will be the new big six?

Imagine what the price of matches wil be. Fans will not support the idea. Surely the beauty of our football is the hsitory and rivalry built up over many years. The owners are not bothered. They will see this as TV event cash cow with global tv audiences and global sponsors queuing up to get their snout in the trough. Never mind the fans. They may get a surprise!!

What they should do too is ban any players taking part in this new Euro League from coming back to domestic leagues much like they did with the cricketers who signed up for the Kerry Packer series

Isn't it to replace the champions league? In essence the same competition but without the bother of having to qualify first?
It's just a money making machine! Without promotion or relegation it will soon go stale.
The American influence is obviouse with this as there sports leagues tend to be run this way
English and european fans wont buy this in my opinion,we are steeped in promotion and relegation battles and long may this continue.
Happy to see the Blades play traditional clubs without jetting all over europe.
Europeans especially British fans enjoy the rivalries thrown up in the domestic leagues.
That's real football competition with of course a structure built in to stop wages getting out of hand

Its supposed to be a replacement for the Champions League not the Premier League
If you dont have to qualify for this European Super League through league position what is the point in them competing in the Premier League as they could finish 9th or 10th and it would not matter
Doesnt make any sense whatsoever they should just fuck off

Would be great if it happened and failed. Where would the ‘big dicks six’ return to the PL?

How do they justify who joins, in recent years Leicester have won the league as many times as Liverpool, Man U haven’t for ages, same with Arsenal and Spurs have never won the Premier League. If they leave and want to come back, they start in League two, fuck em
And what about
If England only has 5 what becomes of the other member of our “big 6” ?
yes exactly, where are Wednesday in this

That’s simple, the teams with the largest worldwide fan base. It’s not about football it’s about money! 🤬

1. Get rid of the six (or more, whoever else thinks this is a good idea). Dissolve the Premier League, let the rest join the EFL.

2. Restructure the divisions back to 1, 2, 3 & 4. Fag packet numbers say 85/86 club members gives us divisions of 21/22 clubs per division. Keep play offs/relegation. Bring back the appeal of domestic cup competitions.

3. Let Sky/Amazon/BT wrangle it out for the European Super League rights,. Chuck in exclusivity of VAR and the commercial potential that comes with it. The business people who know f**k all about football (coincidentally the Glazers, Ricky Parry's etc) will think they've played a blinder.

Meanwhile EFL rebrand the ifollow/create a new direct streaming service similar to DAZN at around £15 p/m

4. Sit back and watch English football fans (and I'd wager a good % of the global fans too) flock along with sponsors.

When they've fucked off we may get fair treatment for all teams when it comes to officiating.

Graham Scott and Paul Tierney identified as making key errors that affected SUFC's games against Villa and Weeds. Mike Riley confirms they were in the wrong to CW. Any action taken against them - No.

David Coote doesn't advise a red card for the Pickford incident against VVD and he gets dropped from VAR duties and they said VAR would avoid any allegation of favourable treatment for the top six. Joke.

Why are people suggesting the top teams are going to leave? This is as well as not instead of the EPL therefore whoever is in this league will get the extra finance and the rest of us will be dancing around them to fit their fixtures in. It would take amazing incompetence with all the extra money for them to not remain at the top.

I detest these institutional clubs too, but that is delusional.

If six, or four, or even three English clubs left the league entirely to join a European Super League so would the TV money - and along with that most of the sponsorship, which is really just a way of getting brand names in front of a TV audience. There's no point in thinking that broadcasters would pay more than a small fraction of what is paid now for the English TV rights as what's left would be worth jackshit.

Now, this may be considered a good thing, but "global fans" are not the slightest bit interested in seeing us pitching up at Brighton or Brentford. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are who this category of fan follows.

Why are people suggesting the top teams are going to leave

Because football fans have become obsessed with saying, "the sooner they fuck off to their European super league..." as if it's some witty, incisive statement.

It's become a really shit footballing cliche.
