Agreed about dick bate
A bully
If he didn’t like you he would make excuses to bully
His favourite was grabbing your sideburns (if you had them) and pulling them
Very painful
As for kingy,he always used to umpire the cricket team when I played never had a bad moment with him apart from him constantly no-balling me!!
Seemed ok to me

Wasn't Head for Housleys further to the left, just out of shot?Where's Head for Housleys?
Come to think of it you're probably right.Wasn't Head for Housleys further to the left, just out of shot?
So what year was it taken down or moved. Iconic for many a young lad stood on the kop along with the letters referring to the scores, programme required.
Yes, with extended neck muscles.Wasn't there one with a player heading a ball?

I'm there as a nipper.
My seat was A85I'm there as a nipper.
My Dad and Grandad's default position on a Blades goal was to to stand up and shake hands with those around.
Good picture did you capture that on your “I phone”.
I was on Row D , bang behind the goal. My first season (70/71) I didn't even have a ticket , my Dad just carried me in on his shoulders and I'd squeeze between him and my Grandad ( cue Hovis music ).My seat was A85
Probably way off but that looks like last match that season vs Norwich. 2-1 Blades with Deano and Agana at their best. Agana coming back from injury and scoring.
Just catching up on my reading.....used to go in every Sunday afternoon for either a sarsaparilla or a ice cream soda In the early sixties
I believe the White House on the corner of Cherry Street was owned by Daniel Brammall. The Anchor Brewery was owned by a man called Tomlinson, I think. He had over a hundred pubs tied to his brewery, the Sheldon being one. He came to a very tragic end at a young age, by stabbing himself to death whilst mentally unstable, in those days he would have been classed as a lunatic
