I have been thinking..............

Given the change in the application of the hand ball regulations, I understand that it no longer matters if the ball accidentally hits an arm or hand - intentions play no part in the outcome. If a ball hits an arm or hand it is a penalty in the penalty area, and presumably a free kick elsewhere on the pitch.

Recognising this situation I would like to suggest that we no longer try and score a goal (unless we have a clear cut chance), instead we should just aim to hit an opponents arm or hand with the ball when in the penalty area.

This could just be whacking the ball at a defender or more deftly flicking the ball up to casually glance a limb and win a penalty.

This could be a new dimension to our attacking repertoire in these times of need.

Definitely when we are working the ball around the box we may aswell smash the ball at players bodies there’s gonna be 5 penalties a match at this rate

If the rule is not altered, that will definitely become a tactic and would be pretty easy for a professional footballer to do at will.

I think that the rule will be a amended though tbh, it is currently bloody ridiculous. Trouble is a lot of referees wouldn’t know a deliberate handball from an accidental one which probably motivated the rule change to ‘The Referee Show’ the game formally known as Football

The PL will probably change the rule so that if you don't play for a fashionable PL side, it is a penalty against you if the ball makes contact with your foot, leg or head. Players for the less fashionable clubs can avoid giving a penalty away by using their torso or bollock bag instead. SUFC women are allowed to use their knockers only.

They're now committed to using VAR for every single marginal decision. Trouble is, cameras can't determine whether a handball is deliberate or accidental. So they've changed the rule to fit what the technology can decide. Common sense has gone out of the window and we"ve got a shit rule that no player or manager wants. Joking aside, Grealish tried flicking the ball against a defenders arm at the weekend and then jumped about appealing. Part of me thought why not? He’s just using the rules to his benefit and it’ll become a new skill taught in schools soon. Then I gave myself a good slap and thought this is all going to shit, they’re killing the beautiful game
