All teams do this now. United and Norwich were the last teams in the top two divisions to adopt this practice, if memory serves. I think the change was made by us in about 2002 or 2003.

It must do because there is no way 20,000 were at the lane last Saturday. In which case they shouldn't announce it as an official "attendance" because its not. Its a count of tickets sold.

How do you know this for certain? Did you count them all? A look round and a guess doesn't qualify as "counting" either.

I dont know this for certain sv, it is an educated guess based on knowing the full capacity of the stadium and the number of sparsely populated areas during the game. You dont have to count them all to have a pretty good idea that there werent 20,000 there - not rocket science my friend.

I said "there is no way" because IMO it is extremely unlikely after casting my eyes around the stadium and about 5 other people around me agreed. They can announce 50,000 attended for all I care! No odds to me.....I was simply reading someone else's comment and backing it up with what I saw.

It seems rather well known that all clubs do it (apparently) so if that's the case its highly likely that there werent 20,000 there at all.
