I might not be the sharpest & slightly dyslexic but I’m not falling for that one. They’re not even remotely similarWho would have thought Rhian Brewster could end up defining our football club?
Imagine, if we don’t get him due to procrastination, Villa nip in next week and he’s mega netting 20 goals and we get relegated it will destroy any trust, judgement and the ability to own / fund a football club between the manager, fans and owners.
If we buy and he bombs and we get relegated trust in Wilder by owners could be damaged beyond repair.
If we buy and he’s successful, we stay up and he is the kingpin in us becoming a force in the PL we will all be relieved, but are the owners that brave or is HRH a FIFA game consul owner where he can speculate to his hearts content and when he looses he’s not out of pocket?
He's proved a dragon in the business and boardroom of football but can he cut it now he’s in control and his money is at risk?
Brewster is our rubicon!
Please Villa, sign this fucker will you and put us all out of our misery. We can hang a "There's always the January transfer window" on this thread and we can all get on with our lives.
[sarcasm]Ok, here's a bit of fuel for the thread fire (trying saying that five times):
If we leave the squad as is until January, or whenever the next one is, we'll be using that window to build a team that can get us promoted at the first attempt (and selling off top assets that we can get a premium for).
This kind of carry on is typical of owners at Sheffield United really thought we had learned our lesson and turned a corner but this transfer window proves yet again we have learned nothing.
Ramsdale we had no choice but to bring another first choice goalkeeper but we have still not brought any strikers in it is a joke.

Aye why not
One of the better players on the old BDO circuit
We need a centre half n'all - any chance big Vern is willing to turn out as a ringer ?
I fucked up with the house then as I forgot to tell the wife that we hadn't any money to spend for the next 20 years until we'd paid all the mortgage off .![]()
Not many posts make me change my mind, but this has made me reevaluate a bit. We've spent over 50 million in 2020 alone.
Signed one of europes best rated young midfielders.
Spent 18m on a GK
Spent around 8 million on 2 players who dont even make the bench
Are building a top notch training ground
Have upgraded several contracts including CW.
All without taking a penny from fans or selling any star players.
I want a striker in as much as anyone but the typical sheff united owners comment is 100% plain and simply wrong.

To be honest that sounds the most likely explanation.Maybe the original plan was a season long loan, talks going well until Liverpool moved the goalposts and now want a fee so that they can bring in a player they want?
It is a bigger risk paying £20M than having him on a season long loan. I dont really know how good he is.£20m sounds like a good deal or even a bargain for such a sought after youngster
Yep - it sure is easy when it's someone else's money..............The "learning" is that Sheffield (United) never have been (& likely never will be ) a 'big hitting' football club that attracts the levels of investment / football talent that you yearn for
In PL terms we are, like it or not, (close to) bottom of the 'financial clout' league
Now about that (unseen) motor I've sourced for you - remember it's blue![]()
To be honest that sounds the most likely explanation.
None of us expected him to be for sale earlier on in this window to be fair, maybe the United staff didn't either.
£20m sounds like a good deal or even a bargain for such a sought after youngster but its not really if your entire transfer kitty hinged on him coming on loan for a £2m fee.
Maybe most of our budget was set aside for a Luke Freeman upgrade? Maybe it still is.
Is he any good??
