I moved there in '89 - Housemartins (& Hugh - the drummer) were done & dusted by then - the street was quite 'respectable' (apart from me of course) & the neighbourhood had a ' bohemian' ( aye I know !?) vibe. Often see PH in nearby Watering Holes & especially the local (small) supermarket (Jacksons - a(nother) Hull oddity) where he'd visit for bread / milk / fags & ' 'carry out'
Very much kept himself to himself - nod and 'alreight' approach - didn't see that much of him especially as/ when the "Beautiful South" took off - certainly no sex n drugs n rock n roll shenanigans over the fence that I heard / saw

Might be a different street then. All I can remember is that he lived on the same street as the Housemartins in Hull and they were rowdy fuckers when pissed. It’s a long time ago.
