Leeds will do better than us

The defending was abysmal from both teams but despite all the love in for Leeds, they LOST whether it was 4-3 or 10-3. The fact that they scored 3 goals was the thing that everyone is jumping all over. If they'd lost 1-0, it would have been seen as a good effort with Liverpool being undercooked but still got the job done.

All that game serves as is a wake up call for Liverpool that they'll come a cropper against better teams than Leeds and for Leeds that if they carry on like that throughout the season, they'll get some right pastings once like likes of Man City get hold of them and will go down if they concede goals like that. Koch is no better than Pontus Jansson on that showing.

I think Leeds will concede more goals than any other team this season. They’re a threat going forward but this league is ruthless and any shaky defences will be punished pretty much every game.

When the goals dry up in attack they’ll still be conceded at the back, so for that reason I see them finishing in the bottom 3.

I didn't watch not one second of their game yesterday, had no desire to.Let the media big them up and their dumbass fans be cocky about battling Liverpool.Hey guess what? Still fucking lost.

I have every confidence we are the better team, let's just focus on us and piss on Leeds

It's one of those things isn't it, facts are we both have good managers, which is the key to a good team.

Won't be bad to have another local team fighting with us.. Bring it on..

Tbf it’s possible they could, equally possible they won’t, they looked like they can create chances, based on only one game of course, and Liverpool are capable of putting 4 past almost every team in this league

the key will be their defence of course

I fully expect Leeds to start well and cause teams plenty of problems, but they could have conceded 7 last night. If they're not well clear of the bottom 3 by Christmas I would be very worried given their annual implosion is just around the corner.

I think their undoing could be that Bielsa Is so stubborn and inflexible. He won't change the way he plays. Norwich tried to play the same as they did in the Championship and embarrassed themselves. We switched to a flat three in midfield to counteract the fast breaks of the opposition and it was an inspired move. I can't see Leeds making a similar adjustment.

I think Leeds could do well this year but I don't have a crystal ball.

A lot was always going to be made of Leeds returning after so long, and especially with Bielsa in charge.

It's not something I can get wound up about tbh. Then again I'm always happy with us going under the radar and the focus being on others.

It's funny, almost like lazy pundits just listen to the fans and hype, then base their opinions on that.....likes of Leeds and Weds "we're massive", oh right, they must be massive....! 🤔🤓....😴

They possibly will finish ahead of us this season. They won't do better than we did last year.

It will depend on how flexible Bielsa is. And whether they simply run out of puff as that press is all well and good but dificult to maintain week in, week out.

They were up for it, scored 3 (with the help of a shakey liverpool defence). Norwich had chances last year at anfield but didn't convert them.
But... they conceded 4 against a team that weren't even "at it". I'd be worried if I supported them.

Liverpool were awful compared to their usual standards, they won’t do half as well as last season, too many individual errors. Leeds took their chances but at the end of the day conceding 4 on the first PL fixture doesn’t exactly show the defence is solid. They’ll finish around 16th.

A good leeds performance 3 Liverpool mistakes,3 leeds shots on target .
The best part was subbing on that 30 million pound striker from Valencia, he gave away the pen for the 4-3 goal.
A good start for him he has already cost them a point.

Even as a striker the challenge that gave away the penalty was utterly pathetic.

I'd berate my 14 year old son for that feeble attempt, turning his back and dangling a leg.

If you score 3 and take no points from a game then you're in trouble.

Defence keeps you up and goals then take you forwards.

The Leeds defence was shocking, Liverpool played with a very high line and Leeds took advantage by lining five players up un the half way line and turning defenders with long balls through and over them.

Will be interesting to see how Leeds do when a team sets up to defend deeper and they have to break them down.

One thing's for sure, if they keep shipping goals like last night then they're going down.

By the same token, if Liverpool keep leaving themselves so open they're winning nowt this season.

I have a crystal ball AND they’ll be shite 😂😂😂😂

If Leeds keep thinking the EPL is a game of basketball they will go down.

This leeds love in is a bit pathetic - i fully expected it lets be honest but i can't be hearing it for 38 games. The mite button will ve getting used - Especially if that past it clown Tyler is commentating.

It was always going to be that way

I heard something ludicrous on talksh*te this morning suggesting they are going to be everybody's second club. Not a chance in hell.

But...

Credit where credit is due - Foolish it may have been but they've gone to the reigning champions, layed far more of a glove on them than most teams last year, exposed their weaknesses and very very nearly came back with a result, scoring 3 goals in the process. I'll give them a bit of recognition for that.
Statto's will say "ahhh but norwich had a better XG etc" - balls to that! I know which if the two sets of clubs/fans will have been happier from the two opening season displays.

The niceties from me end there.

I just hope it leads them to a false sense of security because is till think they are very very average and are within danger of going down. None of thsi top 8 B**locks which Beckford was spouting.

And i still hate them and their neanderthal supporters! That will never change.

Not bothered about weeds ... just hope we are straight out of the block this evening UTB

Jokes aside, we will be reyt, we normally start of poor in seasons we do welll (barring last season of course)
