Not at all Vancouver, if you want to see the glass 1/5 full then it is up to you. Personally I see it as 4/5 empty. However that is your choice. Well said Highbury. We do need to inject some fun back into this forum as well. The atmosphere on here has been hostile and bad tempered in recent weeks and why should that be?! This is a football forum!

I was a bit depressed after the Watford defeat last week and have posted my fair share of negativity in the past week but I am a clapper at heart if we are to categorise ourselves and will be at the lane against Burnley to encourage our lads. Lets try to make this forum fun and interesting again.....like it normally is. Shoreham's delightful posts about shedblog would be a good place to start..........

Supporting the blades has and always will be about the social aspect of it for me. Win or lose, i'll still meet up with mates watch the game drink some beer and have fun. Whatever's happening at Bramall Lane won't affect that one bit.

I'll also nail my colours to the mast right now. I'm a part time blade and get to about 10 games a season, partly to do with distance, and mostly due to the fact that i'm juggling studying for a degree with a full-time job as well.

It's not looking for tungsten tipped screws in B&Q that stops me going.

Indeed. It seemed to go particularly quiet shortly after Linz announced that wrists had been slapped. I had an exchange of views with another forum member in regard to this (they shall remain unnamed) and my take on it was dismissed as a load of shite.....as if any warnings by the administrators had fallen on deaf ears.

Total opposite views are the key to interesting debate and I'm not at all endorsing totalitarianism in regard to completely stamping it out. It does have to be put across with respect for others though and I think that is where some have fallen foul.

There is no such thing as a part-time Blade Highbury. If you try to get to the lane whenever you can (it seems that you do) then you're as much a Blade as anyone else. Prioritising far more important things than football in your life does not take that away..........

This is true. The insistance to form opinions based on an ethos that those in question have become comfortable with; or even become associated with. I suppose that unless your posting on here to take part in intelligent debate, then you have to be looking for something else.....and what else is there? Argument or an opportunity to insult someone.....thats it.

I'm not saying that those in question dont make intelligent or compelling arguments because they usually do to begin with, but it then quickly descends into either abuse or at the very least, our lowest form of wit.....sarcaism. In defence of this though, the other side of the fence can be far too sensitive. People who want an argument or to snipe at someone will prey on the sensitive to get a reaction. People who try to play up to a reputation (on an internet forum!) need a reality check. If you're a miserable argumentative twat all the time, thats what people are going to think you are and they wont respect anything you say.

As you say there is nothing wrong with calling it like it is. I thought United were shit against Watford last week and I said so. I highlighted all the issues I felt contributed to this and I defended my opinion strongly.....but I did not set about insulting anyone or taking the club hierarchy to task over the one performance. At the end of the day it is just football as well so I can just get over it. The way some people go off over a game is borderline ludicrous at times.
