Didn't Wilder say yesterday that he was going to stop calling them the Derby two?!

You’re right. The answer has been in plain sight for the past day. He said we’re going to stop calling them the Derby two...because it’s going to be renamed the Derby three.

Welcome to the club, Martyn Waghorn.

Not really true that pal

Aside from Dids our forwards scored in line with expectation. Dids being so poor really affected the data and I think it’s a really ignorant point to say the issue is with our forwards. That simply isn’t true. Better forwards wouldn’t significant score more if we continue to have the same level of chance creation. The most significant area for improvement in goals next season would be our wide areas and midfield, or a replacement for Dids who is also clinical in front of goal. That isn’t the goalscorer most are asking for.
Cantwell, King or Buendia would give us much more impact than a pure goalscorer.

Been saying all summer we should get BUENDIA

I was playing to the crowd somewhat by including him :D , but the point stands.

It does show though we created a fair amount of chances that were missed. There not all on Didzy.

But yeah, would love BUENDIA

Bob they didn't score in line with expectations, for instance Sharp missed 2 easy chances against Southampton. A decent striker would have buried them and they weren't the only easy ones he missed either. Plus we desperately need a striker who can make his own chances as we don't have one. That would be the missing piece in the jigsaw for me.

This lad 😲😲😲 Looks a proper finisher in that

Whilst that highlight reel makes him look really good I still really have reservations about us spending £20m plus on him if that's what it takes.

I watched both play offs semis from start to finish and particularly focused on this lad as we'd already been linked with him by then. I really wasn't that impressed and he was pretty much anonymous throughout. That's against a back line including Pontus Jansen.

I'm not saying we shouldn't sign him but I certainly wouldn't be pinning my hopes on him being the answer to all our prayers. Most strikers that have a great season in the championship seem to go for about the same sort of fee around the £20m mark give or take, barring Watkins but less said about how much villa have paid the better, and none light up the Prem in their 1st season.

McBurnie, Maupey, Chris Wood etc have all gone for similar fees and have taken time to adjust to the higher level. I think he'll probably become a top player but his 1st season at the top level may be a bit underwhelming like McBurnie's was.

As a side note I truly believe this season we will see exactly why we paid so for McBurnie as all the signs from Christmas onwards point to him really adapting to become a good PL level striker.

He's a baby on his first run out at a decent level. I would think his first impressive steps will only devlop into a sprint before too long based on what I have seen.

It's Brewster. However this will only be on loan. Think our chances are pretty high to be fair . Whispers Brewster has met with Klopp today with his agent discussing on future plans. Surely a win/win situation for Liverpool. Loan him to us to be managed under the best English Manager with a style of football that other teams are trying to emulate. We up his value after a season with him gaining that experience.

What a time to be a blade eh? Signing exciting up and coming youngsters. While South Barnsley tries to re-sign a player they let go because he was shite!

In fairness, I've had this same thought and he did bid for Swift which suggests a midfielder could be still on his radar.
Burke can do what Swift does and do it better than Swift (run with the ball + go past defenders).
It won't be a MF.

So, if our initial targets were Cash, Robinson and Swift - we have replaced Cash and Robinson with Bogle and Lowe. Are we still interested in a Swift alternative? Maybe the Cantwell rumours are true, and we are not after another striker, but a skilled/attacking midfielder.
That's Burke.

Looks like it’s Brewster but checked the odds and he’s drifted to 4-1 which is unlikely. Palace and Brighton are the favourites, maybe he prefers a move down south? Our main hope is that he see’s his development best served at Bramall Lane and also I’ve seen that he’s pals with McBurnie, Ramsdale, Bogle and Ampadu on Insta so maybe he fancies joining his mates?

In the media , Brewster has gone from sale to loan to sale with buyback , so I've completely lost the plot of what's happening with him.
It's almost as if Klopp & CW have had a deal lined up for ages and are just having some fun misleading the other PL clubs via the media !
What sort of deal it turns out to be will influence whether we get another new striker.
CW is the master of deliberate misdirection in the media.
No matter what he says I don't think Burke is purely a striker.

Whilst that highlight reel makes him look really good
Thing I noticed about that highlight vid was the quality of the build up play in most of his goals, most were good service and almost tap ins. That said some were technically excellent goals, reminded me of Billy at his best so if he can be like Billy now and improve and improve over the next few seasons he will be a gem.

Mentioned on other threads, the Daily Telegraph is reporting that if no PL club comes in with £25m then Liverpool will loan Brewster back to Swansea. Brighton are the club credited with the most interest in a permanent switch.

As for Emmanuel Dennis, according to reports in France & Belgium, Marseille have tabled a bid of €10m rising to €15m.

Star saying have to wait a month if want Brewster. But Wilder said another one likely through the door in next few days. So is it possibly Brewster and one more??

He won't be going to palace (Brewster), thye've just loan Batshuayi
