I think if we can get the pacey wide men and put Cressy up front we'll see much more from him and he could be the striker we need, something about Ched still makes me think he'll come good but maybe he should be loaned out for a few months to get abit of confidence.

Boggy stood out against the piggy reserves but then again they did seem to be just kids, my wendy mate who I went with thought the same too so maybe he should get a start sooner rather than later.

As for the team being almost there I think when we add some decent pace on the wings we will be creating a lot more scoring chances so as Jim said it'll be a different story. 1 or 2 players is nearly there for me.

Fair play Ted, but I don't see any evidence of Speedo looking to the Wings.
Any midfield attacking player we seem to be linked with play centrally and are invariably vertically challenged.

Maybe we are going to be the Arsenal of the North? Tippy tappy, neat and tidy and win Sweet FA - of course everything is more grim up North so we will be the poor relations and end up trying to emulate Donny instead - although far less successfully, of course - but with a much larger wage bill.

I am concerned about that too, my main gripe about Speed so far is that he's not been playing Yeates when the game has been crying out for him and when he's come on he has made the whole team look more alive. I'm just having abit of faith Speed does know we're weak on the wings and will sort it but its still early days. I understand the concern that we dont seem to be linked with any wingers but again most of it is just speculation and we may be after an awsome winger but dont want to let other clubs know who we're after.

There are probably none in our price bracket. Loan or otherwise.

When we have them we slag them off for not being the best defender in the team and when they go we see them setting up goals for their new team and wondering why we don't seem to be creating any real chances ourselves.

Enlighten me then Duncs, what are the little adjustments which you think will make us score a few goals? You make it sound all so easy which is not like you, saying all we need to do is score a few more goals is a poor comment in my opinion. It's true obviously but it is a major, major problem not somat that can be fixed with a little tinkering for me. What can speed do about it? I don't see what the options are - what are the midfield options? Drop Monty and play who out wide? Yeates and that horrible little tosser Ward? I think Speed has an impossible task if you ask me.

I dont make it sound easy at all. I'm strongly in the camp that says its incredibly difficult to manage a football team. I've made no secret of this. I dont however think that we are shit, and dont feel the need to post this view explaining it in long winded ways. Why is it a 'major, major problem'? Isn't it just a 'problem'? Why can't it be fixed with tinkering? We have three players in the squad (when Hendo's back) who scored 15 goals a piece last season. Its not that they all became bad players overnight. You make it sound like we've got a squad of complete no-hopers and that just isn't true. We've got a good selection of decent championship players and a few who have played PL too. We might add one or two and I think that is what Speedo thinks too. We haven't settled into any form yet but that doesn't mean that we can't, or won't, sorry thats just nonsense.

Impossible task, no. Very few things are really impossible if you have some time and resources (resources doesn't just = cash btw. Resources can also be intellectual, knowledge and experience, and there is quite a lot of that around the team too...). If you have the view that this is 'impossible' then its just as well that you dont manage the club, or anything else for that matter. There is no point doing the job if its easy. Anyone can do 'easy'. He's a winner, all the way through his career. It might take time, he has after all only been a manager for 6 games, but he will be busting to do well here. So long as we can avoid half the support being on suicide watch, he will.
