It also appears in ‘Footballinsider247’. If it was a newspaper, I wouldn’t use it to wipe my arse.
They do get some stuff right to be fair, I’m sure if was them who broke the Callum Robinson news last summer. But yeah not my go to for rumours

Wild source yeah.

He looked a reasonable threat when we went to Reading. Didn't he also crash the woodwork from 30 yards? That's all I've seen from him live, otherwise just Quest highlights.

Reading supposedly refusing to sell us Swift already, makes this story even less credible.

But who knows, signing both players for total of £10-15mill wouldn't be a crazy deal at today's prices.

The Stir reporting it.

#AnnounceMeiteDelta

The Star would report it if I broke wind and it sounded vaguely like a transfer rumour.

Srsly though, it's not overly wild this one.

Black Cats

might go under Mr Smiths radar......

Has a vicious long range shot which always seems to be on target. Really strong on the ball and decent pace. His touch can be a bit iffy.

Reminds me of a slighter version of Traore in his first season at wolves.

If we can get him for the right price and work on his composure, could end up being a very good purchase.

Guessing if there is any truth in this that Meite isn't our first choice having likely failed with the Watkins interest. Meite seems a decent option, its one I think many of us would have thought was a possibility, given our likely interest in Championship players this summer. £10m fee I would guess, but I can see how this will pan out already!

Stage 1: Papers report Blades have bid of £6m turned down for Meite, Reading saying they won't sell.
Stage 2 Start reporting that Meite is known to have admirers from within Bramall Lane and Blades considering second bid.
Stage 3: Aston Villa and Fulham enter the race and offer £50,000 per week wage.
Stage 4: Papers report Blades interest in Ashley Fletcher, repeat process.

it’s really bugging me that it’s spelt with a ‘c’ instead of ‘k’ on the thread.

Reading owner refusing to sell it’s like McCabe‘s nemesis

This is more like the type of signing I see us making. The young stars of the Championship seem to be slightly out of our grasp, so it's the slightly less fashionable rough diamonds that we'll be in for.

To be fair, I quite like Yacou Meite. I wouldn't expect him to start, but if he's here to take Leon Clarke's spot in the squad then I certainly think he improves us by offering some pace & physicality from the bench.
At 24 there's a good chance we can improve him. A left footer too which we know Wilder likes.
£7m(ish) would be the price though. Any more I think we'd be overpaying & eating into our budget for a striker that can come in and start for us.

Obviously this could be a bollocks rumour but I do find some of this stuff bizarre.

We paid 4 million max for Egan who had the best stats in the Championship. Now we could pay double that for someone I'd be completely ambivalent to signing for peanuts in the Championship.

The market seems ludicrous to me.

I'm up for this he's a bit rough as identified but the kid can head a ball that's a fact!

Wouldn't be against this at all. Should be reasonably priced and still at a decent age. Sure we'll have a few variations on how to pronounce his name, too.

That would make him 6th choice striker and playing a couple of times a season though Morgs?! If he does come then I'd hope that anyone coming in this summer, unless a free transfer or a Robinson type for £500,000 which would solely be for cover, would have a decent chance of staking a claim for a first team spot, otherwise why bring them in for a significant fee, and £7m would still be significant.

I just wonder if there's a minimum fee release clause, otherwise it could be more of the same from Reading with their chairman.

Defender/striker thing ain’t it.
