Based on what? Blind optimism? He signed Freeman originally. Now he doesn't want him. But doesn't want to sell him.

No sign of this being part of a the deal for Cash. I am fully prepared to eat my words of we bring in 2 midfielders and a couple of wingback in the next couple of days, but at the moment this is bad business both on and off the field. But if you want to continue with the head in the sand approach then more power to you brother.

Surely you are taking the piss with that post? Top marks for sarcasm if you are.

If not, then you are suggesting that a manager who got us promoted twice in 3 seasons, and then almost got us into Europe on one of the lowest budgets in the top flight, is somehow making it up as he goes along?

Fooking hell...

If baldock gets injured who's going to play rwb?
Not a kid at £12m+ who’s never kicked a ball in the premier league, that’s for sure! We’ll do what we’ve always done. Put Basham there and bring Rodwell in at RCB

Everytime I watch Sheffield United that George Baldock is bloody good!!! Funny how good players are when they play for other clubs 🙄

Not knocking Baldock at all... IMO I think Cash would have taken his place.

I certainly can't comprehend someone responding to "Wilder knows what he's doing" with "based on what?". It's an almost psychedelic response.

You mean Wilder isn't a bumbling know-nowt?

I'd have never guessed.

Not a cat in hells chance. £6m + £4m add ons makes sense for back up. Our priorities are up front, not replacing one of our best performers.

Baldocks a 7/10 every game for me and no more. If he could actually cross he would be an 8 or 9. He’s great defensively (which is good for a Defender) but could offer more going forward. We don’t put enough clinical balls in to the box for any striker let alone new ones.

Agreed. But 8-9/10 isn’t £12m from the 2nd division either!

Couldn't we have just re signed hendo and then been.able to splash out on a couple of championship players ?

🤦‍♂️ You'd move our player of the season to rwb and play someone who's spent the last most of his career injured in his place 🤣

Please don't give up your day job

Reminds me a bit of when we sold Lee Evans on deadline day this. I myself knee jerked and wondered why we had sold a first choice midfielder with no replacement. Then a few days later we signed Norwood and the rest is history. I also remember being dismayed that our reaction to a wobbly spell in the 100 points season was to sign James Hanson. Then we never lost a game Hanson started.

As a result of this and much more, I'm now so much more calm by decisions Wilder makes that I don't initially understand. It's not just that he's earned our trust it's that he invariably is 2 steps ahead of us all.

Spent most of his career injured? He’s an England international who’s played all his life in the premier league for evert and Man City 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

These two are on the wind up and you're all being baited, saying CW is making it up as he goes along is just a brain dead comment(as are most of the comments by him).

Christ I’m glad you aren’t in charge.

Were Blackburn in the premier League when he played for them?

He's into his 14th season as a professional footballer and he's made 190 appearances I make that 13.5 a season. Wonder how many he's missed from injury?

Freeman wanted games, wilder didn't want to play him.

Freeman is the only one benefiting from this at the moment as we have no one to fill his squad position.

Before you say "we dont play with no.10" why buy him in the first place then? The plan from the get go was play a flat 3. And everytime he's been called upon he's been one of the best players on then pitch.

Like I said, unless we get Cash as part of this its bad business. If he doesn't want Freeman then sell him. If money is the issue, loaning someone out is not the answer to raising money.

Wilder said that he signed him then soon after they changed the formation. The more curious signing is C Robinson.

Oh well! Villa strikes again. I'm not too disappointed. Why? Firstly, it appears we never agreed a deal. It's not like the Robinson situation where we had agreed a deal and the player and his agent chose another club. I'm not so sure we wanted to spend the money Forest wanted anyway. If we had then I think we'd maybe have done this by now, we were linked about three weeks ago with our first bid. So if he stays at Forest or goes to Villa he doesn't come to us regardless.

As for Freeman, just because Forest wanted Cash doesn't mean we could agree a deal with Forest for Cash also. Its a great move for Freeman to join Forest and we'll get him off the wage bill and get a loan fee and then a possible permanent fee next season.

In Baldock we've got one of our better players, although I'd like to see him create more from his position.

As for United the club, we're not Villa, or Leeds who are in a bracket with Everton, Newcastle and previously Man City. Its not surprising we lose out to them in player search. But rest assured, we know money only does so much as Villa prove. If we get Brewster, I predict, right now, that we'll finish above Villa next season, even without anyone else coming. I think he's that good. I'd much rather sign players for a sensible budget, and if that means we miss out on Cash than so be it. Its not like we've spent nothing over the last season £60m plus is certainly new territory to me! I remember been over the moon when we'd spent £1m on Don Hutchinson back in the day!

Finally, our big signing as others have said was Ramsdale this summer. We had to get that right and that has cost us the most in one single player signing. We also spent big on we Berge as someone else said; he'll prove to be worth his fee in my view.

The prince took out a fifty million loan ( that the club is paying back ) to cover that

If we are building a new training ground and that's why we can't afford championship players then great ,tell me more

Covid hasn't changed fuck all for anyone else

I’m not sure I agree. Covid has brought many teams to their knees and administration is a real threat for many teams in the EFL.

How many players have been bought in this window? We have bought more than most PL and EFL teams. Arsenal are haemorrhaging money if media accounts are to be trusted. Spurs have given Mourinho money he can raise from sales allegedly.

Its possible Freeman wants to play and CW knows he will get limited minutes with the rise of Osborn. Could it be that freeing up a potentially high wage will get someone like Brewster over the line. It sounds like Klopp wants a loan fee from the way he’s hyping the lad up.

Ignore the media hype and SSN Transferwatch - and you’ll see that there is not much money being thrown about anywhere. This will be a slow window until the season starts and I don’t expect much to move until chairmen start to panic and splurge cash they don’t have.

Apparently Origi is off so nobody is getting Brewster.
